Annaleise tripped into the classroom, hoping no one would notice her tardiness....
The strict eyes of Mrs. Drama, yes that is the actual last name of the drama teacher, cut towards her, as does the entire cast. "You are late, Annaleise.... Again. Everyday before Christmas break you came in tardy. I was hoping the first day back would be different. I'm through being patient."
Mrs. Drama slapped a note onto Annaleise's desk top with overly dramatic flair. Annaleise tucked her long blonde hair behind her ear as she sat down in her seat, rolling her eyes. The note simply read, 'Drama duty for the remainder of the year'. Big whoop.
Annaleise was happy to leave the drama class after 15 minutes, and the bell for the next class had rung. She caught up to her two best friends, Bridgette who was the cheerleading captian, and Rachel, her polar opposite twin sister. One was the pink of cotton candy, the other the dark of night. She loved the fun of hanging out with both of them.
"Anna!" Bridgette grinned, flipping her hair. "Let's hang out after school."
"Yeah, let's go ...." Her grand plan for the lastest mischievous actions couldn't happen after school.
"Someone put the brakes on the troublemaker train." Rachel laughed.
"I have detention." Anna growled under her breath.
"And that's new because...?" The twin sisters had one of their rare twinsie moments.
"This time it's ... permanent." Anna tossed a book into her locker.
"Huh?" There it was again.
"I will be in drama detention every day after school for the rest of the year." Anna said, grabbing her lunch.
"Lunch is a whole class period away." Bridgette pointed out.
"A whole class period I intend to skip. Might as well make my punishment worth it." And with that Anna was gone.
