I am freaking out! If Zenix is a Shadow Knight and he is my guard, then he would have to kill... me. I feel like I am going to faint as I sit on my bed, waiting for Zenix to wake. I start smelting some wood so it becomes charcoal, but I don't have a lot of other duties. I stare at the dark oak wall, just thinking. He would never kill me... no... no. He wouldn't. But he would have too. But he would never!
"Zella?" Zenix is awake and he sees me just staring at a wall panicking.
"Hi, Zenix!" I say, turning toward him. He has bags under his eyes. He must have had a really rough sleep.
"Are you feeling better?" he asks. I look at my feet.
"I won't be able to walk for a while, actually, so stop worrying!" I assure him. He gives me a small smile.
"Well, I have to go back to chopping wood and getting as sweaty as a pig!" he jokes. I laugh. See? He is okay! He doesn't seem like he would kill anyone! I assure myself. But there was red in his eyes! He is going to kill you one day! a nasty voice says in my head. I shake off all of my thoughts and find a way to get to the furnace to check on the wood.

"I can't believe this!" Zenix is yelling. I am sitting on my bed, listening to Zenix rant about how angry he is. This is not a good sign... at all! "Who cares what the wood looks like! You are just going to either burn it or make it into planks! They don't need to be perfect!" Zenix growls. "I wish I could give my dad a taste of his own medicine..." I see little red hints in his eyes and I gasp. Zenix wipes his eyes. "Why do my eyes hurt?" he mumbles to himself. That is so strange. He doesn't even know that they are turning red... Or maybe he is just a good actor, the nasty voice says. I try to push away the thought that Zenix want to kill me and I focus on trying to make him not want to kill me.
"Here," I say as I pull out my last healing potion. "Take this." Zenix looks at me confused.
"Why would I need this?" he asks, "You are the one that needs it!"
"No, I am sure you will one day need it way more than I need it now." I hold it out to him, the red liquid glittering. He takes it from me, but he doesn't say a word. The confused look sticks on his face. I just sigh and pray that I will not be dead anytime soon. And more importantly, that Zenix will not become a Shadow Knight.
