Chapter 5

AN: Wow this is seriously addictive. I am never going to get any work done again.

'Whoa man' i said, 'Your like a horse dude', this was obviously not the most tactful thing to say as the horse-guy looked slightly offended but the other kids laughed. The guy carried grover inside whilst the girl pushed back her braided hair and introuced herself. 'Hi, I'm Piper'

'Lily', I replied, smiling. She grinned at me and pointed to the horse dude. 'This is Chiron, he's activities director. He's a centaur', she added somewhat unnecessarily. I nodded stupidly, 'Uh, huh'

'Hi Lily', Chiron smiled. How did he know my name!! I asked and he said,'I asked Ash to keep an eye on you and escort you to camp when the time was right.'

'Oh', I said, 'Cool'.

'I expect that Ash has already explained about your parents', he prompted. I nodded again, still processing what was going on. 'Piper will give you a tour of camp and explain everything. You'll be fine', he smiled kindly.

'Yeah, come on Shortstuff', chipped in the guy as he came out of the house.

'Jason', Piper said reproachfully, jabbing his arm, but I just rolled my eyes.To be honest I was a bit short for my age. 'I'm used to it', I grinned. 'Lets go'.

Jason sprinted off to find some kid called Leo and Piper showed me to some cabins. They were all completely different and some were still being built. 'These are the cabins', Piper explained. 'Each one is dedicated to a different God or Goddess and your parent determines where you stay. You're still undecided so you'll stay in cabin 11 for the moment.' At the puzzled look on my face she added, 'Your Godly parent hasn't claimed you yet, so you'll stay in Hermes' cabin as he's God of travellers. Along with God of thieves', she added with a significant look at my back pack. I nodded and suddenly came face to face with two brothers that looked so alike they could have been twins.

'Hi I'm Conor Stoll'

'And I'm Travis Stoll'

'We're In Hermes cabin too', they said in unison. 'Camp T-shirt?' They offered me a bright orange t-shirt with the words Camp Half-Blood emblazoned across the front. I caught Piper's eye and she shook her head slightly. I then looked back at the boys. They both had curly brown hair, slightly pointed ears and a mischevious glint in their eyes, which I had seen in pranksters many times before, usually just as they were about to do something horrid to you. I politely refused before continuing on my tour. 'See you round' they yelled at my retreating back.

Piper showed me tons of cool things, including a climbing wall that actually shot lava at you and the archery class, which I promised myself I would stay away from. On a school trip once, our teachers decided that it would be a good idea to let us have a go on an amateur archery range. The instructor was in hospitle for a while. Finally she showed me the stables. I loved horses and felt right at home, even though i'd never even been to a stable before. Piper looked at me with a kind of contemplating gaze before continuing. Suddenly we heard a conch-horn blow. I wasn't sure how i knew that seeing as i'd never heard the shell before but it just seemed right. 'Dinner', Piper explained.'Go back to your cabin and they'll explain what to do'. I made my way over to cabin 11, whilst Piper started calling for the people in a pink cabin to get ready. I looked back at Cabin 11 and groaned. The councellors were the Stoll brothers. Joy.
