Mother Knows Best

~Derp's POV~

Mother is being nice...she's treating me like a child though...you act like a child. Thanks...no problem.

I wonder around the house, a lot has changed. I'm surprised she still lives in the same old house, yet it looked so different you could barely tell she lives her. What was creepy is everything in the whole house was different and changed except one room...Mine, and Ian's room. It looked exactly the same, nothing changed, not even dust to show the room hasn't been used in forever. Mother baked cookies for me, and kept hugging me and telling me she loves me, it's getting to a point where I find it creepy.

As I was walking towards my room, I hear a ringing noise, like a phone. I look at the door the sound is coming from, it's Mother's room...but the real reason I noticed it, was it sounds just like Ian's ringtone. I look around to make sure she's not here and go over to the door, opening it slightly before quietly going in. I look around the room before seeing light coming from a drawer, I go over and open it and see a phone...Ian's phone. I remember a few weeks ago Ian had said something about losing his phone.

I hesitantly pick it up and open it, "H-Hello?"

"Hello, is this Ian Stapleton?" The voice on the other end asked.

I nod, then remember I have to actually talk, "Y-Yes, it is."

"Okay, well this is Memorial Asylum calling to let you know about your Mother." She explains.

Memorial Asylum? That's a totally different hospital... In a different town...I know, why are they calling Ian about Mother?

"My...Mother?" I say confused, hoping she will explain further.

"Yes, we wanted to inform you she hasn't come back yet, we released her due to family matters, but our guards...Lost her. So, I must ask that you contact us immediately if you see her, and warn you to not approach her." She tells me.

I try to say something but nothing comes out. It's so quiet I could hear my heart beating rapidly in my chest, but I guess I didn't need to say anything, because at that moment, Mother grabs the phone away from me. I turn around to face her as she hangs up the call, she doesn't look happy.

"That's very rude Derp, you shouldn't be answering your brother's phone, and lying to someone." She shakes her head in disappointment.

I gulp, "Y-You know."

Mother smiles, "Of course I know." She puts a finger under my chin and makes me look up at her, "I know the difference between my children dear."

"I-I don't understand... If you were in a hospital, how do you live here then!?" I ask, backing away from her.

"I don't live here, we live here now. And when I find your brother, I'll bring him here and we'll be a family again." She explains.

"Ian's dead." I say bluntly.

Mother laughs, "No he's not. The only person dead here is the family that thought this was their home."

"You're crazy."

"So are you." She grabs my arm and pulls me out of the room before shoving me into my room, a locking sound being heard after she slams the door.

I try to open the door but it's locked, "You can't do this! My friends will come for me!" I yell.

"Just be a good little kid and stay in there while I get your brother." I hear her say.

I sigh in frustration and kick the door, "He's gone..."
