Sophia P.O.V

It'd been an hour since I'd left my new home - for now - to grab a cup of coffee. I'd only just moved into LA with my best friend Trish and her bae Dave who'd really supported me and had let me stay with them. God Bless.

I groaned, quite annoyed. My phone was dead and I had no clue where I was!

I looked around inconspicuously, trying to find a helpful looking individual. As I scanned through the people, one caught my eye almost instantly.

It was an attractive male who seemed to be down. His eyes looked hollow - as if he had given up on the world. His expression dark - as though his future was to be expected.

I made my way over warily. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but hopefully I could make a difference for him myself. Little did I know what the future would hold for us. Maybe then I would take the time to think it through.

As I made my way closer and closer. I literally stopped and thought about what I'd say.

'Hey, could you direct me to a coffee shop?" Nah, too forward..

'I'm lost, could you help me?" Nope. Makes me sound like an idiot..

'Hi there-' You know what, I'll just wing it..

One more foot to go. No turning back.

As I got to him, I paused for a second. This guy was hotttt... Maybe I shouldn't have-- God! Snap out of his trance!

"Um.. Is there something you need help with..?" His dreamy voice rang out.

I snapped out of it.

"Huh?" I asked confusedly.

"Oh, sorry! Right.. Uh, I just moved here and I'm kiiinda lost and I was hoping you'd be and able to direct me to the nearest coffee shop?" I said quickly in one breath.

He smiled at me and nodded, "I can uh take you there if you'd like? It's in waking distance." He said.

I smiled back genuinely. "Thank you so much! Names Sophia!" I put out a hand.

He reached out to mine, "Ryan."

And that was the start to a series of events.
