6. Decisions

Piper swallowed the lump in her throat and fought the surge of anger she felt brewing deep inside. It was no good, she was beyond angry, she was furious! With Ryder!

"I understand, this never should have happened. I thought I raised my child better than that." she explained humiliated.

"Don't be too hard on him Piper," Katrina offered tempestuously, "from what I get from Melissa, I think he tried to stop her."

Piper eyed the tall blond woman, "He didn't try hard enough given what happened."

"I'm sorry," Moira said emphatically, "Really, I..." she trailed off uncertain of what to say. The brunet shook head, her medium length brown hair swaying about as she stared plaintively with her big green eyes.

  Katrina wasn't in the forgiving mood. "Question is, how do we handle this?" she asked with a thread of anger in her voice.  

"Well she's grounded for one thing. Two months at least!" Moira offered.

"That's it?" Katrina asked, "She beat my little girl and she gets two months of being grounded?"

Moira looked at her pleadingly, "I don't know. What else can I do?"

Piper looked at the other two mothers and wondered how this could have happened. She got the call two hours ago concerning what happened at Samantha's last night. She purposely didn't say anything to Ryder, wanting to get a better picture of what happened before she dished out a wicked scolding and more. She arrived and was shocked to hear what had happened and more so to see a picture the little girls red backside. For it to still be so red Samantha must have spanked her long and hard. And worse, Ryder let her. 

Piper was quickly going through her options about punishments. Worse, she didn't know HOW he could have let Samantha do that to a little girl especially after what he experienced at the hands of Saskia. He now knew what it felt like to be really spanked and he let her do it anyway? Perhaps one spanking wasn't enough. Maybe one spanking was too much. 

"Give them a dose of their own medicine." Piper declared.

Both woman looked at her surprised. Moira seemed shocked and dismayed while Katrina was nodding in thought.

"That could work." Katrina said aloud. For the first time in the last twenty minutes she seemed the least angry.

Moira rounded on her. "You think I should spank Samantha for this?"

Katrina faced her head on. "Yes!" then she fished out her phone and past it over. "This is what my daughters bottom looked like the day after!" she emphasized. "It's still red and practically bruised. What would you say if I had done that to Samantha?"

Moira made to argue then stalled, having no real argument against that picture.

"Will you do the same to your son?" Katrina asked.

Piper never had the intention of doing it herself, ever keeping to her promise never to strike her child, yet looking at the deep hurt that shone in Katrina's eyes, she knew who would be the one to punish him. "No, but you will."

Again both woman regarded her in astonishment. "What?" Katrina blurted out.

"Look," Piper said leaning forward, "As I see it, Ryder is JUST as guilty as Samantha. No he didn't spank your daughter and yes he tried to stop Sam but fact is, he didn't! He let it happen. So yes, he is equally responsible and given it was your child, I see no other option then to pass that authority to discipline Ryder, to you. It just seems right."
