Ever since 7th grade I stopped being the sensitive girl, it did no good. I changed myself to a good preppy girl like Maya did and we are the most popular nice people in school, life is good, real good. My mom said she needs to talk to me after school which is no good. I am now dating Lucas, for about a year now. Its ninth grade and I'm doing just fine, nothing can ruin this year!
"Hey Riley!" Sarah says.
"Hey Sarah! Love the shoes, you look great in them." I compliment her and walk through the halls. I was wearing a cute cropped sweater with a jean skirt and some ankle boots.

I turn to my dads classroom and we were set up in partners. It was great until I saw lucas and Maya together as partners. I knew it was just whatever and sat by Farkle. I took out my notebook and the late bell rang.
"Good morning class!" My dad says. We all respond and on the board was "national black month" It was February so I get it.
"Today I have put you guys in partners because I want every single one of you to come up with your own history famous African American and put each one in the alphabet. For example, Martin Luther King Jr for M or Rosa Parks for R. Easy things like that! I am also collecting phones so you can do your own research , you will be in the library after school until 5 and it's due tomorrow. Now start working and hand up your phones." My dad explains. I was handed phones and I handed them in the envelope , including my own. I turn to Farkle.
"Ok Farkle .. got anything for A?" I ask then I hear Maya giggling and my smile turns into a frown.
"Riley what's wrong? Lucas is loyal and Maya is your bestfriend."
"Farkle just 1 year ago he couldn't decide between us two. I love them but I just can't do it." I say
"Riley what are you saying?"
"Farkle I think Maya is stealing my boyfriend... I think I'm done with them." I say then the bell rings and I grab my stuff and leave. I head to lunch and I see Maya sitting by lucas and Farkle. I look at them and They notice me. Lucas just looks at me and smiles and looks at Maya and laughs. Farkle stares at me and I just walk to the opposite table.... Zays table. I go to put my bag down and drag him to a corner.
"Zay... I think Lucas has feeling for Maya." I say.
"Well what do you want me to do, sweetheart?" He asks and pushes my hair behind my ear.
"Find out for me.. Please. I can't be heartbroken again. I don't want to be lead on."
"Will do." He says. I hug him and say thank you. I then go sit with Farkle and the others.
"Hey babe!" Lucas says and kisses me. I kissed him back but all the feelings were gone..not like on the subway.
"Hi baby." I smile and sit by Farkle across from Maya.
"Um Maya.. Don't you think Riley should sit by her boyfriend?" Farkle says. I hit his leg under the table and he grabs my hand and tickles it and I giggle.
"Um Farkle.. Don't you think you should shut up before I shut you up?" She smirks.
"Maya that was rude." I say.
"Sorry Riley. I just have had some problems and I guess I've been following Lucas around like a lost puppy because he's the only person I talked to." She smiled. I frowned immediately.
"Why didn't you talk to me?" I ask.
"You were on vacation.." She laughs.
"Oh and Maya, you left your sweater at my house." He says.
"Yea it's because I took yours." She replies. I get this feeling in my stomach and I don't know if it was anger, jealousy, or sadness in it but it hurt like hell. I quickly grabbed my bag and ran to the bathroom. I heard footsteps behind me and I just knew it was lucas so I turned around.. Farkle.
"Farkle what are you doing?" I say.
"Riley you're hurt. But Lucas loves you and Maya does too.. They don't get that they're hurting you, they think they are keeping stress free from them." He says.
"Farkle, tell Zay to meet me infront of the boys restroom." I tell him. He nods and walks away. I head to the guys bathroom and I spot Zay.
"Zay.. Did you talk to him?" I ask. He nods and I give him a 'well?' Face.
"He does still have feelings."
"Unbelievable." I throw my pack back on the ground and start crying. He scoops me in his hands and hugs me. I hug him and I cry more. He then leaves and I pick my stuff up. The bell rings and the halls fill up. They all circle around something and I get up and make my way through until I see it. Zay and Lucas fighting. I try to break it apart but Lucas pushes me. Then Maya steps up and tells lucas to stop. She grabs his hand and then he stands up and hugs her, apologizing.
"I'm sorry cutie.. But that asshole told Riley i had feelings for you.." He says.
"That means she'll find out." Maya looks down. Then lucas nods and kisses her. Everybody turns to me including Maya and Lucas.
"Riley.." Lucas whispers.
"You're a fucking jerk Lucas! I hate you! I hate you! You fucking broke my heart again I fucking hate you!" I scream and turn to Maya , in tears.
"And you're a bitch. I TRUSTED YOU! YOU FUCKING TOLD ME YOU DIDNT LIKE HIM! YOU COULD HAVE FUCKING TOLD ME INSTEAD OF THIS. YOUR A PIECE OF SHIT GO TO HELL YOU BITCH!" I yell, running away. Maya chases after me, sobbing, and grabs my hand.
"Riley! I'm sorry please. Please forgive me!" She cries. I stared at her. She lifts up her hand and whispers. "ring power.." She cries. I cry too.. I hated seeing my peaches cry.. But I Hated her too. I slowly look up and take off my ring.
"This ring is as useless as you." I say and throw it on the ground and run to my bike and quickly ride it home.
