Long ago, there was a beloved Princess. She was engaged to a Prince from a kingdom not far from her own. The couple had been engaged for a few months, and things were not necessarily great between the two. As this was a forced engagement, the Princess no longer felt any sort of emotion towards her fiancée.

One day, as she was roaming the village, a magnificent man caught her eye. He was a commoner, a peasant, someone not worthy enough to even make eye contact with a Royal. She did not care. He was as delicate as a leaf, as strong as a rock, as beautiful as a flower. The Princess confronted the young man, and wished for him to follow her. In agreement, he followed close behind the Princess, wishing not to be seen by anyone.

As she led them towards the forest, nervous tension hung in the air. Wishing to calm him down, she strode as gracefully as possible in the brush, towards the sound of a rushing stream.

The water glistened and sparkled in the sun, inviting them to take a swim. Carefully leaning over the water, the Princess scooped up some of the cold liquid in her delicate hands, and held them up to the commoners slightly parted lips. Hesitantly, he drank the water from her hands, never once taking his hazel eyes off her icy blue ones. When she was positive that she had calmed him down, she grasped his hand and pulled him back towards the trees.

They stumbled through the bushes for a while longer, before reaching a small clearing. Centred among the freshly trimmed green grass, stood a cosy little cottage. With a beaming smile on her face, the Princess led the peasant into the warm space.

Until evening that day, the two bonded and became acquaintances. They agreed to meet on a certain day at a specific time every week, and vowed never to break their promise.

They did not. The couple would sneak out to meet each other with little difficulty each time, and soon grew very close. Much closer than they had with others on their lives. This continued for a solid two months before some finally started to take notice.

One summer evening, a servant was dusting off a table in the hall, when she noticed something suspicious. The Princess was scurrying from her room and down the hall with a light woollen shawl wrapped around her shoulders, taking to notice of the servant. Seeing that something was definitely wrong, the servant quietly chased after the Princess, her task completely forgotten.

The servant followed them to the cottage, as was pleased to see that they were completely oblivious to her presence. As soon as she witnessed the first sign of intimacy, she raced back towards the palace, eager to share the news with the Princesses' fiancée.

As the servant explained what she had some across, the Prince listened intently. Requesting that she lead him to his soon-to-be bride, they set off into the night.

At the cottage, the Prince slid off his stallion and walked briskly to the nearest window, not expecting to witness anything that involved his fiancée.

He was indeed surprised to see the one that he loved and a dirty commoner lying together in bed, with a quilt draped over the both of them.

With an annoyed snort, he stalked back to his awaiting horse, already forming a plan for a satisfying revenge.

On the next meeting for his fiancée's affair, he was there long before the other two, hiding amongst the bushes.

He waited for his wife to leave, sitting with thorns poking his thighs through most of the night.

When the Princess finally retired for the rest of the night, the Prince ran to the door of the cottage, and threw it open with a loud bang.
