Dan looked at the time. 18:06, six minutes past six, PM. He turned his head toward his bedroom door with a sigh. He should leave the room. It was dark, as he hasn't bothered turning on a light all day. All he'd done was stare at his screen. He hadn't gotten out of bed once.

He needed to pee.

With that, he finally pushed away the laptop and stood, stretching, before heading to the bathroom. He couldn't hear Phil anywhere. Maybe he'd left, and Dan would be allowed to crawl back into bed without being harassed. Well, not harassed. Phil wasn't doing it to be aggressive. He was doing it because he cared.

Dan washed his hands for seven minutes (not so much washing, just that whilst he was rinsing the soap away his head had fallen and he'd not been emotionally capable of picking it back up again yet) and then headed to the kitchen. He looked through the cupboards mindlessly before grabbing a bowl and pouring cereal into it.

That was when thunderous footsteps could be heard. Uh oh. Mistake.

"Is that my cereal?" Phil asked as he burst through the door. Dan looked at the box. He hadn't noticed.

"Oh. Yeah, it is. Sorry."

"That's okay," Phil hummed, getting himself a bowl out. "I'll join you."

He passed Dan the milk as he took the cereal box. Dan sat at the table and poured milk into the bowl slowly, passing Phil back the milk as Phil placed two spoons on the table.

"Why is it so dark in here?" Phil asked, looking at he closed blind and switched off light. He looked at Dan, hunched over his bowl, stirring his cereal slowly, and decided to drop it. He sat next to his flatmate, spooning some cereal into his mouth thoughtfully. Dan was, obviously, and inescapably, sad. For some reason. Phil wasn't sure what.

"Sorry," Dan mumbled after two more muted minutes of noiselessness. Phil was in the middle of trying to dissolve the cereal in his mouth instead of chewing so he almost missed it. Instead, he did hear it, and then continued to almost choke on the cereal mush.

"Sorry?" He asked, mouth still partially full. "What for?"

Dan shrugged. What was he sorry for? For sleeping until noon and then staying in bed for a another six hours? Everyday? For missing his upload schedule for three weeks now and not logging into his Twitter or tumblr and being completely offline as Danisnotonfire for that time? For just sitting on his ass in his room on his anonymous depressing tumblr blog, that only came up with hashtags that had tumblr warning messages on, and being sad all the time?

Phil looked at Dan closely. He was past sad. That was so obvious that it hurt Phil quite a bit to see it. He didn't know what to do. He was rubbish at giving advice. He was rubbish in general. This wasn't a "lie in the hall and go into crisis mode" thing that Dan would be over in an hour or two. He needed Phil's help.

"I'm just... Sorry."

Phil pushed his cereal away, and reached over to take Dan's hand.

"Phil, your cereal will go soggy and you'll have to throw it away."

"That's okay. I just want you to be okay."

Phil leant in and hugged Dan tightly. "Phil..."

"It's okay, Dan. It's okay."

The two boys sat there in the darkened room together for longer than the lack of light would let them measure.
