The Day My World Stopped

"Hey" I said to Lalo.

He just moved his head a bit up and down. "You okay?" I said once again.

He told me "you didn't hear?"

I replied "Hear... hear about what?"

he told me "Just wait for the bus to come and you'll find out".

The bus finally comes and I get on and every single person in that bus was staring at me. We get to the Julio's bus stop and only two girls were there. I thought Julio was already in the school like he sometimes was or that he just wasn't going to come but what I never knew was that I was wrong.

The bus finally gets to the school a little late, so went to our lockers and then straight to class. When I got in the class, the teacher wasn't teaching and silence filled the room. Some of them were crying, but others just sat there. When I sat down, the announcements got on and said..

*Announcements* "Katherine Torres Acosta please report to the office at this moment".

I get up from my desk and go to the office.

I got to the office and the secretary said "Katherine Torres Acosta?"

I answered "Yes, mam."

she said -" Mr. Garcia is waiting for you"-

I get inside his office and usually when I went to his office, it smelled like coffee, but that day it didn't. I see Julio's mother and two other staff faculty. There for some reason it comes to my mind about Lalo being sad and Julio not coming to school.

"Katherine please take a seat" Mr. Garcia said,

"Is there a problem?" I say.

He said."Ummm.. Katherine.. *Clears Throat*.. Katherine it's about your friend Julio Sanchez, he... is no longer here with us"

"What you mean he is no longer here with us, I'm getting confused" I say.

He said, "Katherine.. Julio Sanchez has passed away".... That was the moment my world stopped.

Julio.. Julio was my best friend. He was there for me no matter what. I loved him by the way he was. No, he wasn't my boyfriend in fact he was gay. He always had this perfume, he stole from me but I really didn't care. He loved make up, he used it all the time. I had this make up purse infact he stole that to from me. I really didn't care because I never used make up I just had it there. But I will remember everything. But specially I will remember that smile he will always had no matter if he was hurt from the inside.

"Hey babygirl" - Julio said and hugs me

"Hey, are you okay?" I say. Every single day I always walked Julio to his bus.

"Katy I'm not coming back anymore" he tells me.

Me, "Why?, Why didn't you tell me about this Julio"

Him "I'm sorry"

Me again "You're moving schools"

Him "No"

Me "City?'

Him "No"

Me "Are you playing around with me?"

Him " No babosa, I'm just not coming back anymore"

I start to cry a little bit but he told me not to cry, so I didn't. But for some reason he said to me that day "Just always remember me, I will always be here.. *Pointed to my chest, basically where the heart is*. He hugged me longer and lets go, but by the time he was going to the bus he was crying.
