I brushed my hair getting prepared for my daily training. It was 5:00 am, I put my backpack full of supplies on and raced out of the cottage. Running to the Guild I stomped my foot on the ground to come to a halt as I reached the front gate. Since it was pretty early I guess no one was around to open them. I pulled out my security code card and held it up to the lock. The projector opened a blue screen of Asura "Ah Nepeta, on time as usual. Come on in." He said grinning. I brushed my bangs out of my face and stepped back to let the large wooden gate open. Before it opened all the way I hopped up on top of the brig and slid down, my shoes making a cringing squeak noise that hit my ears. Holding on to the straps of my backpack I walked, it looked so dreary without anyone in there. It was dark and a little startling, but this was apart of my training.
Before walking into a green laser I halted and walked over it "Asura did you forget to also turn off security. I'm here now." No response. I snuck around and eased up the steps. *Clink* shit, I had stepped on a opaque string and flipped out of the way up the stairs and towards Asura's doors "You actually stepped over many traps had my smith to lay out." The light stung my eyes. It was gradually getting lighter out side, the light purple and blue color settling in letting the sun come into view if his massive windows "Can't someone shoot you with all these windows around" I said putting my hand on my hip. "Bullet proof titan eye glass" I nodded and took a seat in one of his chairs. The were blue and golden with brown wooden arm rests "Is there something you would like to tell me" I said while stiffing just a bit "Yes, watch for Dextin he," he paused "just watch him, alright." I nodded and stood as he gave me permission to leave.
I continued walking out of the office in the long corridor that was just now staring to fill with a purple light mixed with blue due to the celadon curtains leading to his office. I walked down the stairs to see Zachary setting up the MissionBoard, I smiled at him and bumped him in the side "What's up dude." and nudged him in his shoulder. Zach is the dude that set me up my first mission that I went on by myself, he was more than happy to help. He looked kind of stunned to see me though, the vibe he was giving was way more different now that he knew I was here. "Uh, Hey Nepeta. What are you doing here so early" "I work here." I said crossing my arms "I knew that, any way, I have to leave." He said backing away from me and then running to the doors. My blood kind of curdled at the way everyone (2 people lol) acting. I grabbed, more like snatched, a paper off the board. Nothing interesting was on there, it was a bunch of rescues and the don't even do all that much for the cottage's bills any way. I walked to the gym and did my daily training exercise and went on a mile run. It was about to just walk home instead of asking Zara to give me a lift to the woods.
I was walking up to the entrance, when I heard an unfamiliar giggle from around the corner in the back yard. I walked over there and wanted to greet the person until I heard Dextin's voice. I don't exactly know why, but this scared feeling rushed over me. They were clearly hitting it off pretty well because they were laughing uncontrollably and talking well. I decide to stop eavesdropping and walk around the corner to see someone sitting on top if him wrestling and laughing, she stopped immediately when she saw me and Dextin lifted up to see me and his eyes widened "Oh," I said feeling VERY awkward "sorry for intruding so abruptly, i'll just um, come back later." I said almost running away but controlled myself into walking. I don't know why I was so sad, I felt tears prickling at my eyes and made them go away. Someone turned me around before I entered the house. It was Dextin of course "H-hey" I said smiling "Hey. Are you okay" he said looking at me with concern "Hey do you want me to leave" the girl said looking at me with a glare "No, no no no no no it's okay. Nepeta this Astrid my girl friend"
My heart broke into one million pieces
I took a deep breath keeping me tears from falling "Hi Astrid" I said smiling and shaking her hand "Hello Nepeta" She said smiling hard with white teeth. Her hair was cut around her shoulders and she was very pretty. I felt my heart trying to pick up pieces, and it hurt. A lot.
"Well, bye" I said.
I walked into the house and ran to my room and flopped on my bed.
Maybe I should go on a mission just to keep my mind off of this. My ears dropped down and I put my knees to my stomach and my tail wrapped around my knees to my ankles.
