Chapter 7
I watched my parents car pull up into the driveway. They got out, but there was an addition to the bunch. Rick.
The stupid no good idiot is here! I walked back inside. I don't care if I'm being rude. I just don't want to be around him. After a couple of minutes I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." Wishing it's not Rick. Thank goodness it's my mom.
"Hey sweetheart. Why you here lazing around?" She sounded worried.
"Because Rick is here. He is a no good prankster." I grumped at my mom. On accident.
She shifted back and forth on her comfy shoes. Her dress swissing back and forth on her body. She looked unsure about something.
"What is it?" I asked impatient. She didn't say anything.
"Your cousin Rick is living here for about a year." She blurted out.
My eyes widened. What did she say? No, no, no! He is not staying here at all. Him and me in the same house for a year. That's not possible. We would be at each other throats for all I know.
I was in shock until dinner. Gabe must have been told to, because he could barly form any words. Rick was looking into space. I had a chance to really look at him. He had grown a couple of inches, and had the same smirk as me.
But what really caught my attention was his gray eyes. Wait, gray eyes?
Last time I saw him they were green like mine. What is going on? After I was done starring at Rick I headed to the living room looking for my father.
"Hey dad ready for dinner?"
"Good to see you sweetie."
He got up out of his chair to give the biggest hug ever to me.
I wrapped my arms around my dad. He must have trimmed done. I just shrugged it into the comforting hug.
Then I mumbled into his chest. "Why does Rick have gray eyes?"
"I have no clue. I'm hungry let's eat."
When we were all seated Rick was fidgeting next to me. I gave him a curious glance. He was also sweating like the temperature was as hot as the Devils armpit.
"Are you alright?" I asked while getting a yummy looking bun. Hmm what will it taste like with honey?
"I'm fine, now shut up." He whispered warned at me.
My hand shot up to his forehead. It was so freaking hot. I pulled my hand back down and said words that I wanted to take back. "You have a fever."
After I said that my mom was in full mother mode. This is why I regret saying it. Because Gabe and I were on the other side of the room, away from Rick. Great, just great. I was separated from the yummy bun. I was hungry. I wonder if I could levitate it over here?
Right when I was about to try it ( What? I am hungry! ) my mom ordered everyone to their rooms. Are you serious? I stomped up the stairs to my room.
My phone was ringing when I entered the room. It was Coco, I ignored it. I sat on the edge of my bed in deep thoughts about food when my dad came in.
"Hey Kyle you have to take care of Rick for a little bit." When he finished saying the bad news he headed out. I got up off the bed and slipped on my tennis shoes. I was planning to run after I finish taking care of Rick.
When I walked into the guest room there was suitcases everywhere. How much stuff does a guy need? I walked over to Rick to see he was asleep. I sat on the edge of his bed. He looked so weak. I remember the last time he was sick, he was only eight years old. So young. He has almost no experience of being sick.
I looked up to the sound of my mom walking in. She nodded at me as if to say that I could go. I happily accepted.

Once I was outside I started running. I didn't stop. The wind was whizzing by me. It felt so nice to be doing something that I was so comfortable with. I felt and heard my feet heating the ground lightly, barly even touching the ground. I didn't even stop running when it came to crossing the almost not there roads. I needed this run so bad. I didn't even notice were I was.
When I finally stopped I realized I was at Royal Pit. I walked around a little bit catching my breath. That's when I realized I wasn't alone.
I turned around to see Drew right behind me. What was he doing here? He was probably wondering the same for me.
We just stood there, saying nothing. It was a rare silence that you hardly ever get. All we could do was stare at eachother and breath. I then noticed a piece of line paper in his clenched hand. He saw me looking. He ran a hand threw his hair, mumbled something and started walking away.
"Why are you here?" I jogged to catch up with him.
No reply.
"Ok, then why are you mumbling things?" He stopped all of a sudden and turned to face me.
"I'm mumbling nonsense. Plus why would you care? All I have to say is that I broke the Royal Pits record. There's a video online it's evidence." He said barly a whisper.
I stood there in shock for two reasons. One for his sudden outburst. Two because I couldn't believe he broke the record. I mean everyone tried it, from miles around. Then the boy with a mystery shows up and breaks it.
He snapped his long fingers in front of my face. I must've spaced out because he was looking at me like I was an unknown creature.
All I could say was two simple words. "Good job." I ran off without any more words said. I reached home in record time. Only to find Gabe waiting for me.
I walked passed him to go upstairs. I got to my room only to find a note on my pillow. Wonder who it's from. I walked over to pick it up, when Gabe spoke behind me.
"It's from Rick. Don't ask me why he can't say it in person." Then he walked off to bed.
I opened the note and grew angry. He hasn't changed at all. On the note it said:
Game on!
I smirked. Fine. That's what you want then that's what your going to get.

After math class I ran into two complete nerd friends. Kris and Chaza. They are best friends and they never seperate from eachother.
They both have glasses, and have the same exact classes. Plus they are in the comic club, don't forget bad at every sport. Chess does not count. They live to be nerds.
Don't get me wrong they are great friends to have. Just make sure they don't get stuck on a subject because they'll end up talking about it every single second. "Hey what's up?" I asked them in kind of a rush. I don't want to be late for class.
"Nothing much.." Chaza began, her brown hair boncing.
"Just life." Kris finished.
"Alright see you around." I smiled at the friends. I then quickly walked off before they could say anymore.
I walked into science, late. Please no tardy, please. The teacher didn't care. Thank god. I sat down and opened my book. The teacher turned around with her skirt whirling and said. "Partner project."
She was aying peoples names and she heard a lot of groans. Then she read off my name and a name that I wished that didn't exist or that the person was in hell. I wish it was the real Devil's instead. "Kyle Saint and Collin Lance."
All I could do was slap my forehead in anger. Me, out of all people in this damn science class. It has to be Collin Lance.
