Chapter 7

 I found Piper and she gave me some armour, which worried me slightly. Were we really going to get hurt that badly? I hurried back to my cabin mates, who were stocking up on weapons. I grabbed a sword which felt balanced in my hands and walked over to the Stoll brothers. 'Hi', they greeted me in unison. 

'Do you think you could explain the rules?', I asked shyly, I hated seeming ignorant. 'Sure', Travis explained that there were two teams and the basic idea was to get the other team's flag back to our base. 'We'll be teaming up with the Athena, Apollo and Zues, against Hephaestus, Dionysus, Ares and Aphrodite. I sighed, looks like Piper wouldn't be on my team, but at least I would be able to see Jason again. When we reached the rest of our team, everyone was listening to a tall blond girl, who seemed to be going over tactics. She looked fierce but kind as well and I had no doubt that she would be an excellent fighter. When every one split off into groups she saw me and came over. 'Hi, I'm Annabeth. You're new right?' I nodded and she said 'You can take border patrol. You see the creek over there?' she pointed and I saw a small stream. 'Stay there and stop anyone who comes over from the opposite team.' I nodded my understanding as she yelled to the others 'Positions people!'

Everyone got ready and the conch-shell sounded again. Immediately the others ran off into the forest and I stood alone, gaurding the creek. About half an hour later, no-one had come by and I was extremely bored. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a tall thin boy with curly black hair, leapt out of the trees. He was carrying our banner. He saw me and grinned cheekily. That made me angry. I was not going to be responsible for losing because of this boy. But he was running towards me really fast, his sword held up, and I panicked. Suddenly I felt a tug in my gut and the creek seemed to rise up around me. The look on the boy's face turned to shock as the huge wave dropped on him.

I wasn't aware of them arriving but I was surrounded by the rest of my team, who looked shocked. 'Who won?' I asked wearily and Jason held up their banner in answer. 'We did' Annabeth said, 'but what did you just-' She was interrupted by a loud groan from the boy lying on the ground, who was now soaked. I looked at him feeling guilty as Chiron galloped over, a similar look of shock on his face. 'Lily-' he began but just then everyone gasped and people started pointing above my head. I looked up and saw a large green glowing trident. 'Whoa' I yelled as I heard people whispering things. 'It's just like Percy!' , 'Do you think she could be one of the seven', 'Why is Leo soaking?'. I looked at Chiron for an answer but all he said was 'hail Lily, daughter of Posiedon.'

I felt my insides churning as I heard another yell of shock. 'What!' I exclaimed angrily, not thinking that I could take anymore. I glanced at Jason who was just staring above me with his mouth open and eyes popping. I looked up again and was shocked when I saw that the image had changed. Instead of a trident, there was a glowing silver owl. 'Hail Lily', Chiron repeated. 'Daughter of Posiedon and Athena'. Suddenly a man in a tracksuit appeared, grabbed my hand and disappeared, taking me with him.
