Heavenly,
Slowly waking up, seeing the sun light peek through the curtains, I sighed. I can do this. I slowly sat up, and saw the time was 5:30 a.m, which gave me plenty of time before school to make sure I don't have a mental break down.
I slowly slid off the bed, on my feet, sitting on the side of the bed, turning on the lamp, and stretching, and then getting up to start my routine. Before I could start, I saw my room door slowly opening, seeing August's head peak in.
"You good?"
I nodded, staying quiet. I rather not speak or I might burst into more tears.
"You don't have ta' go ta' school if ya' don't wanna. The principal said you can take as much time as ya' want." He informed me and I shook my head.
"I'll go." I said softly.
He nodded. "Take ya' time. No rushin'."
He then closed the door, and I tended back to my business. I headed to the bathroom and took me a 20 minutes shower, dried off and lotioned myself down before putting on some clothes and doing other hygienic things.
Once I was finished, I wore my hair straight down, and somewhat wore make up, to make myself look like I got sleep instead of crying most of the night. After I finished, I made sure i was satisfied with my outfit (in the MM) and grabbed my things, along with my phone.
It was just now turning 6:30. Time sure as hell has been going pretty fast lately. I walked down the steps, sitting everything on the couch and headed into the kitchen seeing August looking for something to cook.
"Need help?" I questioned, only to feel my voice just about gave out.
"Nah I'm good. Go relax, I got this." He stated, pulling out some eggs.
I cleared my throat. "I can help."
He looked up at me, seeing he had a soft look in his eyes. "Alright, come on."
I have him a slight smile and he smiled back, moving out the way to let me pick what I wanted. I grabbed some bacon and toast, along with grits that I just adored.
As we cooked, it was quiet between us. Even though I knew he wanted to say something, but it's fine if he doesn't. It doesn't change the fact that my brother is dead and gone for good. He is never walking through that front door again.
"Ya' sister up?" August asked, trying to break the silence between us.
"Not that I know of." I answered, taking the eggs off the hot stove.
"Watch this bacon, I'll be back." I nodded and as he left and headed up the stairs, I heard the front door open.
"Yo Yo!"
I shook my head. Should have known Chris would be coming. No wonder August was cooking extra.
"Hey baby girl." He said kissing my forehead. Chris was like a older brother to me, along with August.
"Hey." I said softly.
"You okay?" He asked, sitting down at the counter and I nodded. "Just keep your head up, you'll be good." He said poking my nose, making me smile some.
"Wassup man." August said, greeting Chris.
"Sup." They both did a handshake that I could never figure out.
"Was Porsche home last night?" August asked me, referring to my fraternal twin sister, and I nodded. Even though we look alike, there's a big difference between us. I had more of a brown sugar color like my mom and she had a light completion like my dad. She's the perfect skinny like Ariana Grande, and I'm in between. Not skinny nor fat, but I do have some weight on me and curves. We both have shoulder length hair and medium brown eyes with full lips and we are the same height. But besides all that...
