Picture above is Cassidy's puppy, Honey!

A million bajillion thoughts went through my head. He sells drugs?! I had to tell Lauren. When he got up to go to the bathroom, I called her. She answered with a "Hello?" And I told her everything.

"He what?!"

"Yeah, it's true. Well, he's coming, so I'll catch ya later."

"Bye Cass."

"Bye."

Jake came back with a smug look on his face.

"Cassidy, let me explain. And I want to tell you I don't do the drugs, I just sell them. I make money for my family. My family is kinda poor, and my grandmother is in the hospital. I use the drug money towards her stay at the hospital since we no longer have health care. If we were to start a relationship, I wanted to make sure I told you, so it wouldn't be based off of lies. I'm so sorry, and I understand if you walk out of this coffee shop without me."

"No, no, I get it. I won't leave you, I promise I won't."

"Thank you so much, Cassidy. Most people just walk out before I could explain. I owe you one."

"Your welcome. Now let's leave. Would you like to come hang out at my house for a while? We have to fix our pool, but we have a huge trampoline."

"Sure! Sounds fun!"

"Alright. Let's get back to my house.

"Alrighty!"

"By the way, you wouldn't mind if I told Lauren about the gang thing would you? She's my best friend, and I can trust her to keep a secret."

"Of course not."

"Good. I'm just gonna call her and tell her why."

"Why what?"

"Why you sell drugs."

"Oh yeah oops." I chuckled, called Lauren, and told her everything. She didn't seem to care. I told her not to treat Jake any differently than she would have before. She said she wouldn't.

"Jake, one question. Would you try to get me in on this? Like this whole drug dealing gang party thing?" He let out a laugh.

"So we're a drug dealing gang party thing?"

"Haha, yup."

"Haha, alright. And no, I would never try to pawn any of this onto you. You wouldn't like it or know how to properly. Plus, if they see a chick there wearing a skirt and flowers in her hair, they'd be like, 'Honey, this isn't the mall,' or something. I wouldn't wanna see you get hurt."

"Thank you so much, Jake. I really appreciate it."

The rest of the car ride home was quiet, except the booming sound of the radio blaring in the background. Bluebirds wer chirping outside, and I could feel the warmth of the flaming bronze sun against my face. The sky was a perfect blue, with white puffy clouds which look like cotton candy were floating up above. The grass was green like a lime, and the tree leaves were more of a forest green color. It was insanely beautiful outside.

As we arrived back at my house, Lauren was in the kitchen, feeding my puppy. She told me he had just awaken from his nap. Me and Jake entered, and Lauren came to greet us. I walked behind Jake, giving Lauren a death stare. I was serious about this whole "respect Jake even though he is a drug dealer" thing. She knew what I was talking about, and texted me, "I will. Don't worry about it. You're so tense."

"I know. I just want to make sure he won't be treated differently. He's a drug dealer, not a murderer."

"Lol, Cassidy, I know! Just stop worrying and let's have fun."

"Okay."

Then we went outside in the bright sun to play on the trampoline like 5 year olds. Luckily we were all skinny.
