I ran back into headquarters with Griffin following close behind. We had finished our research faster than we thought, so I stormed M's office. "M!" I exclaimed. I gripped the file tightly as I ran into his office. Griffin followed me, covering his eyes timidly.

"What is it? Did you find out which victim didn't have fingerprints?" M asked.

I nodded. "The victim who didn't have any fingerprints was Ms. June August," I answered. "It appears that the witness who stepped forward yesterday was correct."

"What's this about a witness?" M questioned.

"I didn't hear anything about that," N frowned from his side. Come to think of it, I barely saw those two apart...

If only Julia and I were like that...

"His name is Victor Clever. He claimed to have seen one of the victims walking out on the streets despite the fact that they should have been killed. He said that he saw Ms. August at a pawn shop near here, though the shop was closed. Once she found this out, then she walked away," I explained.

"Why would the victim be at that place?" M wondered aloud.

"How would somebody even survive some sort of attack like that? It seemed pretty gruesome, judging by the crime scene..." N looked down, twiddling with his thumbs silently.

"There's one case in which a victim was attacked, though they ran away from the crime scene after being attacked and falsifying a corpse," I told him. "The case was in December, I believe. PX-6 was the name, I believe. I bet that if you dig deep enough, you can find the information about it."

"Okay... We might just have to look into that," M said, turning to N. N nodded in agreement.

"Anyways, back to the fingerprints, all of the bodies had prints but June August. The autopsy report didn't mention there being any injuries on her hands that could cause lack of prints, so we simply think that the body never had prints in the first place," I explained. "It's as if her body was falsified for whatever reason."

"Why was the body falsified in PX-whatever?" M asked. His lack of emotion towards these things was strikingly obvious...

"The victim was attacked and nearly killed, so she made a fake body and ran from the scene to evade her attacker," I answered. "Maybe the situation is similar here. The victim did have ties with illegal activity, such as gambling, after all."

"Who was the one who killed Ms. August again, M?" N questioned, staring up at his idol with wide eyes.

"I don't remember... We could go and ask Farrell if we get a spare moment. After we read the case file," M told him. N nodded, beginning to jot that down onto a planner.

"Speaking of Farrell, have you gotten any new information out of her?" Griffin piped up.

M shook his head. "I'm afraid not. She refuses to tell us anything about the case. When we mention Giuseppe or the Kuranin, she hides in the corner. It's as if she's afraid of her own coworkers for some reason," he frowned. "I don't understand why that would be if they're working together on something as huge as this."

"I don't either. We need to ask her about it after we look through the PX-6 case file," N said.

"Griffin, go get the file for us from the archive, okay?" I demanded, turning to Griffin.

Griffin saluted me. "I-I'll be right on it, Q!!" He ran from the room shortly after, not even stopping to talk to Kotoko, who was once again playing with her favorite doll.

"Has any other news surfaced regarding the case? Have Giuseppe, Vil, or Ness been tracked down yet?" M questioned of me.

"No. Nobody's seen them since you saw them in the train station yesterday. They must be hiding elsewhere, though we don't have any leads on where they could be," I answered.

"Okay! I'm back!"

Griffin came running back in the room, a folder in his grasp. "The PX-6 file, as you requested." Griffin handed it to me. I gave it to M in return.

"Thanks," M said shortly, flicking the folder open.

"The list of things that we need to ask Ms. Farrell about only seems to be growing," N sighed. "And if she's going to be as hesitant as she has been to give us answers, this is going to take a long time."

"I can't believe that she's still choosing not to talk. It's like she's the one who has been calling us," M muttered. "Their voices are similar, but Farrell's seems a little bit higher."

"If she were the one calling us, she would be giving us information on how to catch them instead of avoiding the subject. She's most certainly hiding something," N pouted. "I wish she would just open up to us..."

"I wish so, too..." I agreed.

"Whether she's the caller or not, she has a lot to do with all of this," M said. He suddenly gasped. "Wait! I just remembered! She was the one who killed August! August was the only one Farrell killed, so maybe that had something to do with why that's the only body that doesn't have prints!!"

"We have to go talk to her," N announced, though suddenly, alarms went off.

I looked around in confusion as L came sprinting into the room, panting heavily. "It's... It's Farrell..."

"What about Farrell?!" M demanded.

"She... She just escaped from her holding cell! She isn't there anymore and we can't find her!" L cried.
