I'm sprinting again. Those damn birds decided to sneak closer then take flight. I dash across the stone floor, their closing in. Then just my luck, i reach a dead end. Frustrated, i scream, my mind is racing. Desperately, i search for an opening. To my surprise i find one, a few feet a head of me. Sadly, its to small; i wount be able to squeeze through it in time. I remember my knife, but that's not an option it's hidden in the depths of my pack. A bolt of pain rips through me, as a small chunk of my shoulder is claimed by one of the creatures. I whip around to see them for the first time. Thier like an orange bird, but they have the head of a lion, thier claws are huge. My head shouts at me to run, but my body gives up. I know I'm going to die, the creatures swirl around me, randomly poking me with thier claws. Lirds, that's what i'll call them. I realize I'm curled in a ball on the ground, and i try to get up but my body doesn't obey. Then, as if by miracle I hear a response.

"Nola," the voice of Crest croaks. Crying, I lift me head to see, lirds flying everywhere, trying to get away from me. Then I realize the cave is ten times brighter then, it was before. I look at myself and find that I'm glowing whites. What the heck? The light fades and I'm red and bloody again. Standing now, i pull my pack off my shoulders and search it for cloth, and my bed. Once i find the cloth, and bed i fix up my shoulder and set up the sleeping bag. As i try to sleep i think of Crest, her smile, her laugh, and most of all her last words. "Continue Nola don't stop chasing your dreams." Seems simple, she doesn't want me to give up. Now I've know Crest for ten years, and not once has she made something simple. Suddenly I hear a series of squeaking noises so, I get up and investigate. On the ground a few feet away from me, i find a small baby Lird. As soon as he spots me he tries to hobble away.

"Shhhh Shhhh it's okay, I don't want to hurt you. " I whisper. I pick up The Lird and cradle him in my arm. It's so cute, i cant imagine it becoming a nasty creature. I notice that the Lird's wing is broken, so i get some cream and some cloth out of my pack. Carefully, i cast his wing. After I'm done he bounces onto my shoulder happily. "You want to come with me?" I question. I get a chirp in response. "K, then you need a name... Sept okay?" I ask. Sept chirps, which brings a smile out of me.
