"Hey bucko." Frisk jumped as Sans spoke. He was standing at one of his shops with a ketchup bottle tight in his grip. "Hey." Frisk replied. Sans took a sip from the bottle.
"You wanna come to Grillby's? I know you're busy and all but I could use a break with a chum."
Frisk nodded and Sans closed his shop. Placing a sign down that read
"back in five."
Sans took Frisk's hand and led them through one of his shortcuts to Grillby's despite their long distance away from Snowdin it was almost no time at all to appear at the front door.
"Humans first." Sans chuckled while holding the door open. The comforting warmth swallowed the two whole. "C'mon bucko, our seats are free."
Sans clapped his hands together while walking in. He sat down at the bar and patted the seat next to him for Frisk to sit.
Frisk noticed someone next to Sans as they sat down. They were fairly large and continued to make grumbling sounds like they were in pain. Drool seeped from their spot but their face was covered completely by large scarlet claws.
"So, watcha hungry for?" Sans asked waving Grillby over. "Fries." Frisk replied while glancing back at the large being, huffing behind Sans whom seemed to not notice.
"Good choice." Sans said snapping his fingers silently. Grillby nodded and wandered off. He came back with a plate of fries and a bottle of ketchup.
"You want any ketchup on yours?" Sans asked while handing Frisk their plate. Frisk shook their head as took a fry off their plate. Grillby watched happily as Frisk enjoyed their meal until seeing the mess of saliva on the counter. He promptly cleaned it up without second thought. Frisk was confused by the large red beast and why no one seemed to be concerned with its presence. It flopped its tail and rubbed the sweat slicked feathers on its head.
"H... Who's that?" Frisk asked quietly as Sans combed his skull. "Oh?" Sans looked over confused.
"That's Dogamy you goof ball." He chuckled. Frisk shook their head annoyed and pointed to the beast more directly. Sans sweat slightly and looked back. "Oh that?" Sans chuckled. Frisk noticed the beast looking over at them from under their arm.
"That's nobody, don't even worry about it." Sans said cheerfully.
The red monster sat up and wiped back the feathers on their head again. They took a drink from the bottle in front of them and growled. "Oh yeah, definitely nothing." She spoke in a rustic tone. Sans began to sweat more heavily and got up.
"Y'know kid, we should actually just take our food to go." He mumbled. Frisk nodded feeling the same intimidation Sans was stressed by.
"Oh no pal, you should stick around." The scarlet faced monster said in a drunken way. Frisk noticed the state of the beast's eyes. Just as red at their skin. Obviously too many drinks.
"C'mon kid it was a mistake to take you here this time of day lets just go." Sans blurted while taking Frisk's hand fearfully. The beast laughed and hiccuped while pulling Sans back from his speed walk to the door. She threw Sans to the side and growled while singling out frisk. A few of the other monsters in the restaurant looking over.
"You wanna know who I is?" She slurred. Frisk shivered nervously and nodded.
"I'm Degree Lastname! The greatest brawler in the underground!"
Frisk held their soul as Degree began to attempt an attack, but she stumbled and missed.
"Kid!" Sans growled while taking Frisk into his arms. He held out his hand and sneered at the scarlet dinosaur.
"It's just a kid Degree, leave them be." Degree snuffed her nose and took another swig from the bottle in her hand. "As if, that's a human... Can't wait to taste that soul." Degree growled and began a charge but was pushed to the ground. She writhed as small hands choked her. Keeping from attacking
"Degs... Stop it. You're drunk!"
Degree stopped and blinked heavily.
Frisk thought it was Sans whom had stopped the attack but then remembered he was still holding Them to the side. It appeared another skeleton had stopped this unfortunate incident.
They were smallish but still a bit taller than Sans... Only by an inch. They wore a very puffed jumper that matched the snow outside. A pair of jeans were strung loosely to their large bones with a belt.
"I'm so sorry she's not usually like this. She's harmless I swear." The skeleton pleaded. It was a she by the sound of it.
Frisk nodded to the apology and clung to Sans.
"You should probably take her home now." Grillby said while putting down the phone in his hand. The skeleton nodded and hoisted Degree up off the ground. Holding the large dinosaur like a baby. Her legs dragging on the ground. "Thank you for the call Grillby... I'll get her cleaned up."
The skeleton blushed ashamed and walked out.
Frisk looked over to Sans with a look of confusion. Sans sweat nervously and began to walk out of the restaurant. "C'mon pal, let's get out of here you can come stay with me for a bit. Papyrus is dying to see you anyways."
Frisk leered and placed a few bucks on the bar. Grillby took them and nodded. Frisk followed Sans out.
