chapter seven
It's been two weeks.
Two weeks. Apparently ten miles in Mèrr means a LOT more than in human measurements.
Two weeks since we first started heading for shore. Since we last saw our kind. Since I last saw Angel, my keeper.
The golden girls and I have been eating fallen kelp and sleeping on the seafloor with only eachother for warmth. Tonight marks the 15th day since we started for shore, the fish have been picking at us like vultures for an hour now. One of the fish starts going for Aquata when--
"OW! They keep picking at us!" Sirena wakes with a start "Aquata" she says softly "I know this is very annoying, but you need to keep QUIET" This startles Aquata and I "Sorry" she and I say in sync, even though I didn't wake Sirena, she is still kinda scary if you wake her.
"This is taking too long. The Council said we'd only be a few days, it's been fifteen days." "I know Tess, we already ran out of food about ten days ago. We have to be close" said a sleepy Sirena. It was then that Aquata interfered "Guys, look!" she was pointing at what looked like the seafloor, but it was going upwards. "Shore!" Sirena and I finished for her.
I started swimming quickly for the upwards seafloor and saw that the golden girls were falling behind. "Well come on slow pokes, we've been waiting forever to get here!" I was beaming. As much as I wanted to be like everyone else, it felt great to get to the shore.
"Wait!" Sirena halted infront of me and Aquata "How, in the seven seas are we going to get legs?!"
This made me stop and brought down Aquata's spirits. It's as if all of the excitement drained from all of us. We knew that we could use the coralites only, we didn't know how. It was when Aquata laid down on the seafloor in utter despair that a bright light came from our tails. The gold light slowly dissipated and left us all confused.
"What was that?" Sirena asked. "It will be vital in your quest" said a voice. A strange voice. As I looked around, I realized it was Aquata, but it wasn't her in a way. "Don't be afraid, Aquata is a vessel for the ancient seer in her family" the voice had a deep, old voice as if it had been alive for a long time. My train of thought got cut off by the seer I guess "Once you are dry, you will have what you need but don't touch the salt. DON'T TOUCH THE SALT" the voice then faded and left Aquata unconscious on the seafloor.
"Aquata!"
We started fanning her face but she wasn't responding. "Did that seer thing kill her?" I asked, freaking out for an answer. "You seriously think a stupid voice will kill me?" "Aquata!" Sirena and I hugged her and we fell on the seafloor.
"We thought you were dead" I said as we composed ourselves "Do you know what the voice said?" "Yes, yes dry up and get what you need" Aquata mocked the voice "But don't touch the salt!" Sirena finished for her. This made me laugh. After I had stoped laughing I started to say "Well, let's go guys, there's a whole new world up there for us to explore and a cave pool to find.
"And legs to do so" Aquata finished.

Hii!!
I have returned from the dead.
Honestly, it feels good to write. It's as if I am at home in this story. Now if you are patient enough, stay tuned for more!
Lastly, I would like to thank spellmoon123. Even if she isn't here to read she was my most loyal and probably only friend/fan. Thanks to her I keep getting excited to write new chapters not just for her, but for everyone who reads.
As always comment, vote and share!
