*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
Yippee! The first day of school is finally here! Usually someone wouldn't be so happy about the first day back to school, but personally I enjoy going.
I hurry out of bed and jump in the shower. With a towel on my head, I apply basic makeup and brush my teeth. Afterwards, I blowdry my hair and pick out my outfit for the first day of senior year. I finally decide on a white crop top with boyfriend jeans and black ankle boots. I also put on a silver necklace that I got from my mom on my 15th birthday.
My mom has been gone for about 2 years now and it is just me. I had no other family to take me in. My grandparents passed away in a car accident when I was eleven and my godparents both passed away due to cancer. We had nothing to do with my dad's side, mainly because all of them were druggies.
I rented an apartment after staying with my friend Stace (Stacey) for a year. I now work at this cute little bookstore down the street after school and every other weekend.
I fix a piece of toast and put some Nutella on it. After eating my small breakfast, I go and get my phone off of my side table. I have two new unread messages from Stace.
*Are you ready? I can drive today!*
*Urm, wanna pay for coffee..?*
I laugh to myself and tell her that I will be outside in 5 and that I will pay for coffee. I quickly grab my apartment keys off the bar along with my book bag and head outside to wait on her.
**20 mins later**
"Man what do they put in this coffee to make it taste so good?!" Stace asks in excitement.
"I don't know. Ask your boyfriend, I mean he is the one who works at Starbucks." I giggle and check my book bag to make sure I have everything.
"Don't be jealous!" she laughs pulling into the school parking lot.
"Well I guess I will see you in third! I have to make sure I'm on time!" I say as I rush into the building.
I locate my locker and unlock it. I put all my stuff in it and grab my english notebook. I quickly turn around to find my first period which is english. After following the numbers on top of the doors, I locate the classroom.
I take the front seat. No one else was in the room yet, so I decided to play a quick game on my phone. The next time I look, there are people in the room other than the teacher and me.
I shove my phone into my back pocket and watch as the teacher writes something on the big white board.
"Hello class, my name is Mr. Smith. Many of you may have my wife, Mrs. Smith in Chemistry later. Today we will discuss some simple things about ourselves to get back into the spirit!" I think I like this teacher.
The door opens and in walks a tall boy with curly hair and dazzling green eyes. He glances at me then says, "Sorry, I was outside not really caring. Do I really have to be here?" Mr. Smith looks at him and tells the boy to take a seat. I look around the room, hoping to find another empty seat for him to sit in.
Just my luck. The seat next to me is the only empty one. He sits down next to me in a slumped position. I roll my eyes and keep my vision straight ahead.
I feel a touch on my arm and look over to find the boy taking out his earbuds. There is suddenly a small noise coming from them and he puts them in his ears.
Great, why me? Why do I have to sit next to him?
I try to keep my focus on what the other kids are saying, but I am continually distracted by the boy's music. I tap on his shoulder and widen my eyes as he turns to me with an irritated expression.
"Erm, could you please turn down your music? I can't pay attention." I slowly ask.
"Sorry Princess, no can do." he says and smirks.
I look at him shocked. Not only because he said no, but also because he called me princess. Who even does that? Was it meant to be sarcastic?
Whatever the reason, I turn to face the student who is now talking about her obsession with her pet turtles. It isn't long before I am interrupted from listening again. This time it's the boy and he is tapping my shoulder.
"What?" I ask a little annoyed.
"I just wanted to know your name." he mocks me.
"It's Kensley." I loudly whisper in an attempt to make him leave me alone.
"Oh, I'm Harry. Nice to meet you. What do you like to do?" Of course he keeps talking.
"Um, could we talk some other time? I'm trying to pay attention." I reply rather harshly.
"You actually listen to this?" he ask in a similar tone.
"Yes, now would you please shut up?" Gosh! Why won't he get the memo?
"Give me your phone." he says sternly.
"Why?" I ask a little shocked.
"You asked if we could talk later. I need your number to talk later, darling." I looks into my eyes with another smirk on his lips.
I hand him my phone and seconds later I see his phone light up with a message from my number. He deletes the message from my phone leaving me a little bit confused and irritated.
I am soon asked about myself and I give the basics. I like school and I live in an apartment with no pets. Pretty straight forward if you ask me.
Not long after the class is over. Nothing really happens in second or third period. Lunch time rolls around and I get my lunch. I find Stace and we discuss how our classes went and what the teachers were like.
Harry ends up being in my fourth and final class for the day. I end up having to sit in the back because of how long it takes to get to the class. He sits just a fews seats away from me. We make eye contact a few times, but the bell rings quickly and dismisses the first day of school.
I get my stuff out of my locker and meet Stace in the parking lot. She drops me off at my apartment building and drives off.
I get inside and fix myself a mug of green tea and sit on my bed. My phone buzzes and I have an unread message.
*Hello Princess ;)*
