Life's A Roller Coaster

Chapter 1

As I was coming home from my date with my boyfriend Henry, my bestfriend Hailey was coming home with my mum and I after"supervising" the date. ( Having a bowling competition) We were singing Problem by Ariana Grande trying to hit the high notes with our mum laughing at us for being idiots. Out of nowhere a black SUV turns on its headlights and speeds toward us. With a huge impact the car flips over. It was like it all happened in slow motion.

Next thing I know, we were all sent to the hospital to check for injuries. As I woke up at my hospital bed I hear the nurses talking about a patient who had been terribly injured.

I rose up out of my bed slowly and turned to the nurses, "Who was the patient."

They turned to me and said, "You have some vistiters. Would you like to see them?"

Confused at why they wouldn't tell me I simply said yes and they brought my visiters in. They were my dad, brother, and my bestfriends parents.

"Hey girl!" my friend's dad says cheerfully.

"Heyy," I replied with a laugh, "is Hailey up yet?" I asked.

He looked to my nurses and replied, "Not yet."

I started getting really worried because of the conversation I over heard from thw nurses and he quickly said, "She just isn't off her medicane yet."

I calmed down believing whatever good news I could.

The next couple of days went by slowly and only got visits from my dad, brother, and my friends parents, but it was just to check-up on me, and to make sure I was eating my food.

One morning as I was waking up in my hospital bed I saw a girl about my age sitting in the guest chair. Next to her was a tall handsome guy around my age as well. I rubbed my eyes and looked at their faces trying to make a connection. It was Hailey and Henry. I was happy to see Hailey woke up and was okay, and to see my boyfriend there. They came up on either side of me and Henry gave me a kiss on the cheek, "I knew you were going to be okay, I would have been here as soon as you did but they didn't call me until this morning and said you were stable."

"Are you off bedrest?" I asked Hailey.

"Not yet but they let me come see you!" she replies.

"That's good!" I say with a smile,"has mum talked to you lately," she looked up at Henry and he looked up at her, "No, not yet, but she isn't off her medicane yet."

"Oh," I said with a smile.

The nurse came in with my breakfeast, the usual oatmeal, mystery meat, and orange juice. I turned to the nurse and asked if I could have Starbucks. With a chuckle she said yes.

My boyfriend left to go get me a coffee so Hailey and I could talk.

"So, how you doing?" I asked.

"I'm still drowsey but it is just from all the pain killers," she replied, "it's crazy!"

"What," I reply.

"One minute we were laughing, singing, having a good time. Then boom your life are changed....forever."

We sat in silence for a while. "Only a few more days before we get to go home," I say.

"Yah, I just really hope we don't turn into so big sob story, ya know?" she replies.

"Yah, I just hope we get better before the volleyball season! Our last season before college!" I say trying to be cheerful.

"Don't remind me, I have no idea what I'm gonna do! What if we both don't get into Penn?"

"That is what cellphones are for," I say with laugh.

"I'm serious, you keep me out of trouble! Your mum is basically my mum too! I have know you for literally my whole life. Alot can change in the matter of 4 years."
Henry came back with my Starbucks and we all kind of talk for a while before the nurse comes in to take Hailey back to her bed.

Henry stayed until visting hours were over. He gave me a kiss on the head, told me he loved me and sweet dreams then left.
