Light. It's everywhere, no place for a shadow left. This is heaven. I wiggle my toes in my white ballerina flats making time pass as i stand in a line waiting to be let into the building. A slight nudge to my left side makes my eyes look up from the pavement. "Cher. We're moving." The voice said with a overly cheery undertone. I step a bit forward following the person in front of me. "Ab, what are we even doing here?" I ask the overly cheery voice. She glares, sighs and answers "Well if someone would've listen to the teacher." Another glare sent my direction, "We're seeing the captured fallen angels. Cool right?" She squealed the last two words. Someone pray for my eardrums i think they're broken. "How did my parents agree to this?" I ask her again. You see my parents are really strict and don't want me near anything dark or unheavenly. "It's a required field trip, parents were not asked permission, just informed about it." She answers shrugging her shoulders. I opened my mouth ready to fire another question but she beat me, "It's required because teachers think it will scare us to only do good and not be a fallen." She points me a glare, obviously annoyed that i fell asleep during class. Not my fault my sleep just seems to not working during the night time. I felt the jumping before i heard the squeals "We're next!" I looked at the man in front with a notebook in hand and a cigarette between teeth. "Cerise Mariette?" I stepped forward, saying a tiny hello to the man who didn't even bother to raise a brow in my direction. I heard a faint "Abigail heather?" and a squeal while a women with red hair and white wings led me to the control room. The woman smiled at me and spoke "Don't worry dear, we just have to check you for any weapons or sharp objects, this will be just a few seconds, okay." I nodded and she led me to a room with different machines and more lines. She stood by my side for a few seconds when someone whistled and she pulled my away from the line and to another machine. A guy was leaning against the machine with the same clothing, wings and smile as the woman had. "Hello there, just put your bag here and step in this baby." He told me and smacked the machine. I did as told, put my bag into a sloth showed and stepped into the machine. Immediately the machine woke with a slight buzz sound. Next a red light walked over my body, snapped shut and dinged a green light over my head. "Okay, you're good, please go and meet others at the door to your right." The smiling women said while pointing to her right. I whisper a thank you and head towards the door she pointed. I joined the mass of students and the low buzzing which was created from different conversations blurring into one big mess. Ab decided to join me with with saying "I am so exited!" She kept jumping up and down like a young rabbit. I don't want to know where she gets her energy.. "What is there to be exited about?" I quiz her. "Just imagine all the hot boys there." She explained like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Okay youngsters, listen up!" boomed a loud voice at the front of the mass. "We are about the enter what we call a guardhouse." The buzzing among students got louder. "Here we keep all the fallen angels which have turned into demons." The mass of students shut up and kept quiet. As if hearing your breath would make you into a fallen. "So let this keep you from making any bad decision because trust me, you don't want to end up like them." I crossed my heart in my mind. Never will i become dark and fallen. Suddenly a guy raised his hand, "Yes, do you have a question?" asked the loud man and the student nodded. "Is devil really as evil as we've been told?" a few people snickered, everyone knows that devil is as evil as it gets. That his heart, if he even has one, is colder than ice and darker than the night sky itself. The loud man laughed and said "Well my boy, he is evil alright. It's been told that his eyes hold no emotion with their pitch black darkness. Everyone who's seen him isn't alive to tell the tale." Students didn't dear to move and i swore that cold breeze blew in the room. The man laughed again making the mass of students jerk awake from their fearful state, "So let's keep this moving." The man opened a big grey door and the students, like beheaded chickens, followed his lead. The first thing i noticed was the darkness. Not literal darkness but darker than the light which filled heaven. I peeked a look at Ab who's eyes were opened big and wide and her smile spread across her cheeks. Yet her hands played with the hem of her shirt, she was afraid. . I can't blame her, my own hands were shaking and playing with the ring around my pinky. We followed at the end of the student mass for sometime until we came to rapid stop. Ab looked at me, confusion covering her face but it went as quickly as it came when we heard another door being opened with a loud clang. Automatically were heard wolf whistles and shouts, it made me uncomfortable the way those fallens were talking and shouting. I guess their mouths are as tainted as their souls. "Hey babe, come over later, i'll make sure you have good time." A deep voice yelled followed with booming laughter. I folded my arms over my chest hoping to make myself as tiny as possible. I would never be like this I promised myself.
