Chapter 11

Oakley typed furiously as Emmet read the hidden entries. It was as if he was challenging her to mess up. However, ever since they were little she was always able to catch up to him. The entries were all about Charity Love's husband.

His insanity was dreadful. Killing people in the most disgusting and terrifying ways. Men being force to cut themselves open while dancing, women being carved until they finally died from blood loss, and even one account where a group were force to fight to the death. The awful part Kory Love forced his wife/adoptive sister and their son to watch.

As she finished up the last account everyone stayed silent. "There's one more. Jazmin, since you found the hidden pages... you do the honors," Emmet says. "If you want to."

Jazmin gets up and begins reading the last one. Slower than Emmet.

"Dear Diary,
          Though I have plenty of life ahead of me, I feel as though that I'm at death's door. This is is my last attempt to escape. A kind man has offered to smuggle me out of this broken home. My only regret though is not being able to take my son. He deserves more than this, but he is so stubborn that I think he'll right the wrongs of this family somehow.

If I should fail at escaping. I am sure that my husband will likely kill me for sure this time. The sad thing is, I am not afraid of death like many woman my age are, but I don't know why I continue trying to survive as long as I can. I suppose it's my child that has encourage me to keep living. I wish I could raise him in a happier home, but it's too late. The pain around this house has made everyone trapped. In fact, I believe that the spirits now haunt this place. If I told anyone this, they would think I have gone mad. If anyone to read this, I beg you to run as fast as you can out of this house. I must go now or I will never have this chance again. Goodbye, Charity Love"

Oakley finished doing a short summary of the last entry. However, what they learned from Serena, Austin, and Jazmin, Charity must've never escaped and probably died a horrible death like the others before her. Everyone in the room was silent, and then the door flew open.

"Hey, everyone, I brought you guys some late lunch. I didn't know what you all liked so I just got you some fast food from different restaurants. I don't know I think I'll take the double cheesbur..ger.... I'm interrupting something serious, aren't I?" Richard asks as he barges in.

"God damn it, Dick, we had a serious conversation going on!" Oakley nags.

"Well, sorry that I didn't know. We're all still teenagers. You all act like adults that have been in war or something," Richard fires back.

"Moving on," Emmet says," The real problem is that Jazmin's life is in danger. I believe that we should make a charm and have her leave at once. Austin you'll go with her to protect her. If my theory is correct, Lord Love won't be able to get out of the property of this house."

"I disagree, I think I should go with Jazmin," Trevor says eruptly. "Austin can stay here and exorcise the spirit or ghost or whatever it is. I'm not letting my sister out of my sight." Oakley felt a pang of jealousy, and she instantly questioned it.
