The clinging of swords echo through the great hall. A sharp jab is made to the person on the left's stomach. Both fighters remove their fencing masks, foreheads caked with sweat. The person on the left's a pale female with strawberry hair and freckles dotting all over her face. Her hair tied up in a high pony tail. The one on the right is a male with dark brown skin and jet black hair. He has nice cheekbones and a friendly smile. The female has a deeply defeated look on her face. She tosses her her Epee on to the ground. The male gives her another smile while putting his hand on her hip, his other hand occupied by his Sabre. The female sits on the ground and puts her face in her hands, groaning. The male walks over and pats her head awkwardly.
"I've lost to you every single time," she looks up at him,"I'll never get better if you keep beating me!"
"You nearly beat me that time!" He exclaimed his free hand running through his light brown hair making it turn upwards in a quiff. "Your technique is getting better I can tell," his voice softens and it calms the female.
"You're right," she smirks and gets up putting her hands on her hips puffing her chest, "I Samantha Space nearly beat thou, Edward Time!" She says cockily in a 'royal' voice.
Edward rolls his eyes. "Yeah, yeah shut up," he giggles. Edward turns on his heels heading towards the boys locker rooms. "Go freshen up and we can hang out afterwards, you probably reek." He smirks and winks at Samantha over his shoulder. Samantha grumbles foul language under her breath before heading to the girls locker room to freshen up as well.An Hour Later
Both of them had taken showers and switched into different outfits. Edward walks out of the locker room first his fencing bag slung over his shoulder. He sits on a bench waiting for the female to finish up. Around 5 minutes later the girls locker room door swings open. Samantha steps out seeing Edward and walking towards him. Edward stands up as soon as he sees Samantha.
"Shall we be on our way M'lady?" He smirks at the ginger and she rolls her eyes at him.
"Sure." She says blankly. She walks past him supposedly not in the mood for his games.
"Hey, what's wrong did something happen while you were in the locker room?" He grabs her shoulder to stop her and she shrugs his hand off.
"I don't want to talk about it," she glares at him. Edward feels taken back but doesn't speak after that. He walks Samantha to her house. The two of them dead silent, both keeping their eyes glued to the sidewalk as they made their small journey. Edward thought about speaking up but in the end decided not to in fear of angering Samantha. Once arriving at Samantha's house they finally meet eyes saying not a word but somehow saying a whole conversation with their eyes. Samantha's eyes glossy with tears building up threatening to spill over, puffy as well. Edward's eyes concerned and tired his eyebrows furrowed. Before parting ways all they say is "Bye". Samantha walks into her house and Edward continues down the road to his. Samantha goes into her room to rest her tired eyes and Edward goes to his to think some shit over. Samantha flops onto her bed tears finally spilling over, crying quietly into her pillow until her throat hurts and the pain in her heart is gone. But the pain is never truly gone so she cries for as long as she can. Her eyes out of tears but her chest still full of scars. Edward on the other hand sits in his bed quiet, staring at the ceiling his heart also aching but not in the same way. The two of them are different, opposites almost. Yet they both still have the pain. This pain isn't heart problems, it isn't physical. It's mental and it can drive you insane. They both go to sleep after while and wake up at the same time the light from they're windows shining through bringing a smile to their faces after the tough night they had. They text each other and promise to meet up in a bit after getting dressed they leave their houses and decide to talk about shit together, to fight the pain in their chests together because it better together.
