42.More Fur, Raw Steak?

The next morning, I woke up with my lovely wife still by my side. “Good morning dear,” I purred as she turned over to face me.

“Good morning,” she replied as she put a hand in my hair before kissing me.

“I have a question?” I confessed as I stared into her eyes.

“Yes dear?” she replied happily.

“Did you tell everyone but me before yesterday?” I asked as I placed a hand on her swollen stomach. I know I should have noticed she was rounder, but really I was dealing with a stupid shock collar.

“Yes dear, I did. I wanted to surprise you, but it came out wrong,” she answered as tears filled her beautiful eyes.

“Some reason, I don't think it came out wrong at all. You gave me the reason I needed to stay human as long as possible,” I purred.

“Well, I'm going to go check on Annie,” she told before she headed down the hall.

I got off the bed and went to shower; but when I removed my shirt, I noticed that my whole chest and back were covered in yellow fur. I knelt to the ground crying; then I put my shirt back on and headed outside, forgetting to take a shower. I met John and Dr. Jason at the barn with tears in my eyes, but I waited patiently as they re-bandaged King's legs. “How are they healing?” I asked when they were finished.

“Well, he should be up and about in a week or two,” Dr. Jason answered before he looked at me. “Something wrong, James?”

“Um, I have a problem,” I confessed before I motioned for them to follow me up the ladder.

“What is it, James?” John asked after we all were up there.

“I'll show you,” I replied before taking my shirt off. I watched both of their jaws drop.

“James, did you tell Anna that it is worst?” Dr. Jason asked as he touched my furry chest.

“No,” I answered sadly and I turned away from them.

“Well, we knew it was going to happen sooner or later,” John confessed as he put a hand on my shoulder.

“I know, but please don't tell anyone that it is worst. I wish I hadn't messed up and made it go faster,” I cried as he handed me my shirt.

“Sure James,” they agreed before I put my shirt back on and we went to the house.

My father started to cook steak and he noticed me walking by; so he asked, “Son, how would you like yours?”

“Raw,” I answered with a huge grin and everyone stared at me.

“Raw?” he repeated shocked.

“On no, I mean medium,” I answered before I dashed to my room.

John followed me crying on my bed and asked, “Did you just ask for you food raw?”

“Yes, I know. That was really bad and I'm sorry, but it would have be so bloody,” I replied as the tears rolled down my cheeks.

“Well now, James. Don't worry about it, it was just a slip of mind. You can have raw meat, when no one is around,” he told sadly as he rubbed my back, trying to calm me down.

“No, I shall resist. I promise John,” I cried as I stared at him.

“James, are you sure?” he asked unconvinced.

“Yes,” I declared unhappily.

“All right James,” he replied as he left me.

I headed soon down for lunch and I enjoyed the steak; even though, it was cooked, but I wouldn't touch anything else. “James. You need to eat your vegetables and fruit. They are good for you,” my mother told and I unhappily devoured them. I felt sick eating them and every instinct in me was screaming inside myself to spit it out.

After lunch I ran to the maple tree near the barn and Anna soon found me. “Dear, are you okay?” she asked concerned.

“Yes,” I replied sadly.

“Are you sure?” she asked again.

“Yes,” I hissed as I looked away from her.

“All right; but if you need me, I will be in the house,” she called as she left. I crawled into the barn and talked to King for many hours. He eventually grew tired and fell asleep in the grass.

I got up hours later and ate with my family. I ate everything they gave me; so I would not look like I was changing. I talked for a hour after before going to bed.
