I couldn't sleep. I just kept thinking about what had happened. It hadn't been a dream, had it? The fairies and such. I was still debating in my head.

Bekah.

"Who's there?" I whisper, I instantly sat up and looked around, Victoria was asleep so it couldn't have been her.

Rebekah Ocsar.

Now I was really getting freaked out. I stood up and walked over to the closet. I opened yet found it vacant. The washer was going with my and Victoria's uniforms. Could it have been the squeaking of the washing machine? Probably. I walked over to my bed and went back to sleep.

Rebekah! There's something we need to discuss.

What the heck? Should I wake Victoria up? No, she needed her sleep. I got up and went to the door. On the back of the door was a mirror. I saw my nightgown, it was identical to every girl's nightgown. Light pink and went down to my ankles, the sleeves were short.

I grabbed the doorknob and opened the door a crack. I saw no one, so I opened it a tad bit more and stuck my head out, still no one. No one outside the door. No one in the hallway. No one in sight. That's what I get for being paranoid.

I was about to close the door when I saw movement at the end of the hallway. It was just a guard, making sure everyone had meant curfew, and that no one was out and about. Luckily, the boys and girls dorms were on opposite sides of the school, so the guard didn't have a hard job, the boy's dorms were on the third floor while the girl's were on the first. I slowly closed the door. I walked back to my bed and sat on it.

     Bekah! Can you hear me?

The voice was coming from my head, and I didn't even realize it. I didn't realize that it wasn't coming from outside, but deep within me. It felt as if it were my conscience speaking to my soul. Yet, the voice was so familiar it was scary.

Who's talking to me? I thought inside my head.

Bekah! You must listen, don't ask questions until I'm done speaking. Do not trust Zachary, and whatever you do, don't go into the basement. I know this sounds like some horror movie, please, I'm begging you, don't go into the basement. Someone will tempt you, resist the urge. Also, you need to read your sister's letter  the day before the Night of the Blood Moon. But-

I cut the voice off. When's the Night of the Blood Moon?

It's in a couple of weeks, don't worry, the whole school will be talking about it soon. It is the night when the moon turns blood red, at midnight it will line up with the crystal in the cross. You must read your sister's letter a day before then, not a moment sooner. Please Bekah, I'm trusting you.

Wait, where's my sister's letter? And the book?

It will be revealed when the time comes. I'm sorry I have to go now. Don't trust Zachary, don't go into the basement, read the letter a day before. One final thing, the voices are not me, I will not contact you this way anymore. I will contact you letter or human form. Good bye Rebekah Ocsar, and good luck.

     Wait! Don't go!

Everything was silent. I still had so many questions to ask her. At least, it sounded like a female voice. Oh! What's wrong with this school? Ever since I got here, it's just been getting weirder and weirder.

I tried calling out one more time, Hello?

Okay! I think I'm safe now.

You're back! I thought you said you wouldn't contact me this way.

The voice sounded a little bit more raspy than before. Maybe she just needed a drink of water?

You know, what I said before, I didn't really mean it. I was just trying to scare you. I mean, the basement is pretty awesome! There's tons of cool things, like ancient artifacts. It will give you tons of knowledge.

This reminded me of the Adam and Eve story in the Bible. It was where Adam and Eve, the first two people on the planet, were told not to eat the Forbidden fruit, God told them that. Then the devil, came in the form of a snake and said that the God was lying and that the fruit would give them knowledge. They ate the fruit and were banished from the Garden of Eden.

How do I know this is you? You didn't tell me anything about yourself! Plus, you seemed pretty sure that I wasn't suppose to go into the basement. What basement is that anyway?

The voice sounded a bit ticked off and a bit more raspy, The school's basement. I already told you I was just trying to scare you. Why don't you believe me now?

I'm sorry, but how do you expect me to believe someone who was trying to hard to make me understand one concept and now totally switched sides? And you said you wouldn't- Should I tell them they said they wouldn't speak to me this way, that it would be human or letter form? No, probably not. I'll alter what they said a little and see if they argue against it.

I wouldn't what?  The voice said with a bitter tone, it clearly sounded like it was on its last nerve.

     You wouldn't contact me again.

REBEKAH OCSAR! The voice was no longer a soft and gentle female's voice. It was raspy and demonic, Go to the basement!

YES GO! Said a demonic female voice. Soon other voices were taunting me. Until I couldn't single out a voice. The more I tried to ignore them, the louder it got. I covered my ears, it didn't block anything. I had forgotten yet again that the voices were coming from inside my head.

The voices got louder and louder, the last thing I saw was the clock, 10:03 until blackness overwhelmed me.

I fluttered my eyes open, I lay in a field of wheat which had been already harvested. It looked like the field I saw when my dad was driving me to Wellor Academy. The slight breeze kissed my face, the sunshine warmed my skin. I noticed I wasn't wearing shoes, the cut down straw felt surprisingly soft. I noticed the dress I was in, it was the same one I wanted in the mini mall.

"Are you coming?" I familiar voice said, I turned around and saw my best friend, Mary.

"Where?" I asked.

"You know where," she held out her hand, for me to take, "C'mon."

This all seemed too pleasant to be true. I was debating whether or not to take her hand, I wanted to go with my friend, but something seemed out of place.

I remembered! Wellor Academy! Victoria, David, and all them. The voices! This was too good to be true because it wasn't true.

"Where are we going?" I pressed her again.

"Ugh!" she sighed, "Come on! We need to go now!"

"Where!" I practically shouted.

"Just come with me," her face was cruel and full of hatred.

"Where!" I yelled.

Her hair shrunk into her scalp, a few strands came back out, pure black. Her skin turned wrinkly and a sickly tone of purple. Her eyes became bloodshot, "TO THE BASEMENT!" Her demonic voice screamed.

*****

I woke up with a start, I was in a cold sweat. The time was 10:20. Had it really only been 17 minutes? It felt like eternity. I glanced over at Victoria, she was facing the wall. Her hair was split down the middle, both halves in front of her, revealing the back of her neck. The unusual part was there was something on the back of her neck.
