Part I, Chapter I

It was a cold, dark night in the country known as England. I glared at my alarm clock thinking, this is my last good night sleep before someone's life changes forever. Tomorrow was the day everyone feared. And that day is.................. The Reaping.

Six o'clock a.m. was the time my mother woke me up for a terrible day. I already knew a boy and a girl will be chosen to compete in The Hundredth Annual Hunger Games. Bit of course I had forgotten about the whole thing so my mother had to remind me, as always.

"Katelyn. Wake up. WAKE UP!" said my mother, Miranda.

"What is it mom." I said in a tiring voice.

"Today is the day. Get dressed! Your sisters, Sierra and Jennifer, are already to go."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean today is The Reaping, so get up!"

"Ok. Ok."

So I got dressed in my passionate pale pink dress with a white collar and a golden mocking jay pendent around my neck for good luck, hoping that I won't get picked for this years Hunger Games. I also wore skin colored tights with some black four inch, closed toe, heels.
