My Name is Desmond Miles

I was born into this bloodline. The Brotherhood of Assassins. I chose to run away from my destiny. I left my family to pursue a normal life. I just couldn't take the constant vigorious training, the secrets, and the confusion from the lack of explaining they did. So I decided to go to New York to start a new life. I found a surprisingly well paying job for a bartender at a nightclub called Bad Weather. I know my family needs my help and if they knew where I was, they would surely come for me. I'm sure they're tracking me right now. My family has been at war for centuries with a group known as the Templar Order. They believe that our goals are the same and the only thing that makes them bad is their methods they use to get there. That is partially true. Our goals are similar. Their methods are definitely bad. My ancestors and my ancestor's ancestors have been battling the Templars for the last few hundred years and have been mostly successful. Three of my most powerful ancestors in the Brotherhood are Altair Ibn La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, and Connor Davenport, otherwise known by his tribe as Ratonhnhaké:ton. Now if you know anything about the Brotherhood, you would recognize those names. And while those three are some of the most important in the history of the Brotherhood, they aren't the only of my ancestors that were hugely important figures in the brotherhood. Most of my ancestors in the Brotherhood were some of the most influential men and women among them. Altair, Ezio, and Connor caused revolutions in the Brotherhood and even fueled revolutions in the world. Altair was significant because he was the youngest in the Brotherhood to reach the rank of Master Assassin. Since he reached the rank at such a young age, he was very respected. One day, he went off his mission to save a fellow Assassin who had been captured and was nearly executed but Altair came to save him against direct orders not to. Doing so got him demoted but eventually he regained his rank. He was a fearsome warrior and many feared him. He eventually became the Grand-master of the Assassins Brotherhood. Ezio quickly became the leader of the Italian Assassin Brotherhood and later in Constantinople. He defended many places around his home in Italy from the Templars. Ezio also defended Rome and Constantinople from the Templars almost single-handed. Connor was a Native American around the time of the Revolutionary War. His father was Haytham Kenway, a powerful Templar man. The Templars raided his village and burned it, killing his mother in the process. Later in life Connor meets Achilles Davenport, a former Assassin, who trains him to become a deadly Assassin. Connor played a major role in the forthcoming of the American Revolution. I chose to run from the life they lived as an Assassin so I could live a normal life. I lived that normal life since I was about 16. That all ended when they came. The Templars. Today they are known as Abstergo. Yes that would be Abstergo Industries or Abstergo Entertainment, their subsidiary company. Harmless, right? Wrong. That's what they want you to think. They have a dark secret. If anyone knew, you would understand why we do what we do, us Assassins. This is the story of how I went from a naive teenager to the Assassin I am today. My name is Desmond Miles and this is my story.
