(Jack continued)
She came down looking absolutely amazing. You could tell she was uncomfortable, it was probably with what she was wearing. I mean I always knew her as an athletic running pants and north face type of girl. But she looked beautiful in everything she wore. We all started having a conversation but she wasn't saying anything, she just kept looking at everyone confused.
Soon her hands were flying through the air with much more elegance then her sisters had been. Ava shot her a glare, as she began flying her hands in the air in response. I finally pieced together remembering she was deaf. Ava's face looked like she was going to lose her shit. The hurt became evident in the beautiful ones face. She ran up the stairs and I was following behind her. I saw her run into a room and close the door.
I walked to the door I thought about knocking but she wouldn't hear it. I walked into a room filled with exercise equipment. I crouched down next to her. Once she noticed my presence, she looked at me shocked. She was crying her eyes red and puffy, yet she still looked beautiful. I had a pit of anger and disgust in my stomach thinking about how her little sister had the effect on her.
I pulled out my phone. We had a conversation typing back and forth. I eventually asked if we have met before. I knew we did, I wanted to see if she remembered me. She responded by nodding and sending me a sweet smile. When she wasn't paying attention I let out I sigh of relief. The girl I always loved, remembered me.

At school Ava and Apolina had been complaining about her hogging the bathroom the other day. Whatever I didn't really care. As we walked past her someone in our group of friends pushed her into the lockers next to her. Ultimately causing her to fall and drop her things.
Everyone started laughing as we continued to walk but I didn't laugh. I looked back, she was looking directly at me. We made eye contact our gazes locked. Her face looked a bit shocked but mainly hurt. I gave her an apologetic smile before turning away with my group. I forced out a laugh so that no one suspected a thing.
"Teachers, please keep all students in the classrooms tell further notice." Was the only announcement played over the PA system. Everyone groaned, the bell was due to ring any minute and we weren't going to be allowed to leave. Soon everyone's attention was turned to the window by flashing lights as an ambulance pulled into the school. A few minutes later the ambulance pulled away with someone inside on a stretcher, but no one had seen who it was. Then classes resumed.
I didn't see her in the halls for the rest of the day. Or the next few day for that matter. I walked up to Max and Mary, showing them a message on my phone asking where she was. They were hesitant signing back and forth to each other discussing the matter, or so it appeared. I sent them a pleading look and the typed back "The hospital." I nodded feeling the tears begin to pool in my eyes. I walked away soothing myself. She was the one on the stretcher. Part of me wanted to ask what had happened, but I knew it would be best to find out from her.I went to visit her the very next day. When I walked into her hospital room she glared at me. The glare sent daggers right through my heart. I hated seeing her in pain, and upset like that. The secomd she looked at me like that i knew the reason she was here probably was because of me somehow. I picked my hands up, shakily making the motions i had been practicing in private whenever I could. I tried signing "I'm sorry." I could tell I did it right when her emotion went from anger to shock. I then let her know that I was learning. I wanted to tell her I was learning for her so I could be with her but I couldn't.
I wanted to ask how she got there but didn't want to ruin the moment. I asked the nurse and she said she couldn't tell me. But i could tell by the look in her eyes the nurse wished she could tell me. I figured I had to piece it together myself. I could assume a lot of things but I didn't want to assume anything too awful. It killed me to think that, in case of one of the worse possibilities, it I might've helped put her here.
I visited her everyday after, and she taught me signs. This all continued till she went home, her sisters never knowing where she was. And I was never going to be the one to bring it up to them.
