The New Guard

Beep! Beep! Beep!

I pressed the snooze button on my alarm clock, I rolled over and muttered something, I was to tired to move or do anything, I wanted to sleep because I was training yesterday for... Wait

I shot up and looked at the clock 8:56, my eyes widening in horror "I'm about to be late for the Guard Selection!" I quickly kicked off my quilt, got up, ripping off my pajamas, and start putting my soft fabric on then my armor, running to the bathroom to at least make my self a little presentable.

This Is the biggest day of my life and I am about to be late! Goddamit! The Guard Selection is where some citizens who want to be Princess Phoenix's guard, the lucky winner can get special service! Princess Phoenix never done this before, so this year it is special!

When i was done brushing my teeth and washing my face, I grabbed my shield that was hand crafted, it had a phoenix with a heart in between it's wings, I grabbed my lucky sword for good luck and I quickly ran out of my house into the village.

While I ran I said hi to my friends they wished me luck as I went to the line of guards, you may be asking 'Why do you want to be Princess Phoenix's guard?' Well... Let's just say I kinda, maybe just have a little crush on her.

I know it sounds gay but hey, we all have our thoughts... and preferences, I puffed out my chest to make me look like I was a complete strong solider, I moved some of my hair so she can have a good loom at my face, but because of my crazy long bangs they just fell right back on top of my pale yellow left eye, covering it like normal, think I'm not ready for this, I should-

"The secretion is ready!" A persist called out.

'Oh no! The selection has started I don't think she will pick me, this is a life long dream! I want to look nice for the Princess!' I thought while I was panicking, but I kept a straight face to tell that I am not nervous.

I saw on the balcony. A young looking girl with a high pony tail, a nice sparkly tiara with Ruby's on it, nice red red eyes that look to innocent to be evil, a orange dress that go down her knees, bow ties on her fox ears, 6 curled orange tails poking out of her dress. She was beautiful.

"I will now choose the selection of the new guard! If this guard gets picked out of the jar then they will be the mosted served guard in my kingdom!" She said loud so the villagers could hear.

I saw the four guards next to me buffed up there chests a little more, I did too, I saw her hands go on the jar and shake it, she closed her eyes as she picked a small piece of paper out, she opened her eyes.

"Superstar Galaxy!"

Wait... That's my name, am I the new guard! No way! My dream.. it's come true! I was so excited! I walked up "I am Superstar Galaxy" I told her, my deep voice escaping my throat, I saw her go back in the huge castle and come back out in the entrance, I was so close to her.

"Hello Superstar Galaxy, you are my new guard that will have special services" she said looking straight into my sky blue right eye, (the one that wasn't covered my my hair) I can feel my star pupils contract just by her sight, "Y-Yes.. your highness" I stuttered, god why do I have to be so nervous, as I bowed to her, she curtsy back by lifting some of her dress, "follow me to your room" she said, I nodded, obeying her command.
