Things settled into sort of a rhythm at Jurassic World. Run, work and relax, with eating with friends scheduled into the midst of it all. I tended to eat breakfast early with Claire, lunch with Owen, Lowrey and Vivian and dinner with... Owen.

Things had shifted now with me and Owen. We had started having dinner together every night, with the excuse from both of us being that it was easier seems as we lived right next to each other. One night he would bring home food, the other night it was my turn. It was a comfortable cycle, and it almost felt like me and Owen were like friends, until one crude remark from him made me sigh in desperation at how me and Owen Grady would probably never ever be friends.

"Dinner is served." Owen said simply, throwing me my polystyrene container filled with the free food from the canteen. He always piled it high, forgetting that I had a much smaller appetite than him.

"I asked for ketchup not barbecue." I teased him.

"Shut up, you never ask for ketchup, you're freaking addicted to barbecue dip." I laughed, tucking into my burger and chips, slightly happy at how well he knew my tastes by now.

"Nasty scratch Charlie gave you today." Owen said, pulling my leg towards him.

"Well somedays it works, somedays it doesn't." I said, crossing my leg underneath me to hide the sore wound.

"I've never met someone who can handle them as well as you. Without having imprinted on them of course." he said. I shrugged and thought of how well the raptors had taken to me.

"I couldn't have done it without Barry's help." I said.

"Excuse me?" Owen said playfully, "Honestly, you buy a girl dinner and all she does is insult you!"

"You're too busy being an ass to help me!" I said, not exactly lying, "and the food was free you idiot."

"Too right. And I am not an ass!" he protested, leaning over towards me and grabbed my food before digging his fingers into my side, making me squeal.

"Well, I beg to differ!" I shrieked as his hands scrabbled on my sides, tickling me.

"Owen! Stop!" I begged, rolling onto my side to try and shield my stomach from his hands, but his grip just flipped me back over and increased their assault.

"Say that I'm the best alpha raptor and I give you half of my fries!" he said.

"You're the best alpha raptor and I give you half of my fries!" I shouted to get him to stop. He finally subsided and leant over me, both of us slightly out of breath, and I was still aware of both of his hands resting on my waist. We stayed that way for a few more moments, either one of us not daring- or wanting- to move. But, he moved away suddenly and leant over to grab my abandoned food and took half of my fries, which I didn't mind since I would never have eaten them all anyway.

"The truth is, I only hang around you for the extra food." he said as he sat back down in the grass next to me, and I rolled my eyes at him.

Work was different too, Owen was acting so much different. Barry told me that Owen was showing off in front of me, doing things with the raptors that he had never done before when I was around, but I laughed it off, I just didn't see it.

"PIG LOOSE!" I heard a worker cry, chasing it around the paddock with a stick. I charged over to the new guy and retrieved the stick from him, attempting to capture the animal myself. That was until Delta ran up to it and pulled the stick, flinging me over into the paddock, and I landed heavily on my back. I lay for a few seconds, before my name was screamed, and I staggered upwards, trying to ignore the excruciating pain in my back. The raptors, despite me now gaining their trust, circled around me, baring their teeth and growling. They were still wild animals and acted upon instinct.
