-Forced Beginnings-
All 16 years of your life had been average and uneventful. You lived on the outskirts of town on the edge of the woods in a large, two story cabin with your father, (f/n) (l/n). Your mother, (m/n) (l/n), had died during your birth according to your father but he always declined to talk about it, so you grew up to respect that he would tell you once you were older. You had a peaceful life of helping with domestic work around the house, hanging out with friends, staying up long nights to play online games with other friends, and held decent grades. Everything was routine and normal. Until the day came, when everything completely disrupted your normal lifestyle.

Your POV
"Morning Sweetheart, you ready for school?" My father's voice echos up the stairs and I peek over the staircase railing to look down at my Dad with tired eyes.
"Yeah, unfortunately. I'm not feeling it today though, I just wanna sleeeeep~" I whined and my dad gave out a heartfelt laugh.
"You never feel it (y/n), you stayed up late again didn't you?" He sighed and a worried smile spread on his face. "I keep telling you to get sleep, but at this rate I don't think your eyes could get any darker. Don't complain about school or being tired if you're not going to fix it yourself you goof."
He was right, I didn't have bags around my (e/c) eyes but they always did have dark rings around them, almost looking like black eye shadow gone horribly wrong.
"Yeah, yeah...." I sluggishly walk back up the stairs and enter my room. I grab my brush and pull it through my (h/l) (h/c) locks and pin the hair that lay over my face to the side. Pulling my backpack on, I made sure my hoodie and jeans were clear of any dirt or dust and I hopped down the stairs to meet my dad in the kitchen.
"Hey pops! You remember what happens in two months right?" I said, smiling brightly.
He tosses me an apple and speaks. "In two months? Hmm... Autumn begins?" He said resting his fingers on his chin.
"What...well yeah, but no!!" I scoff at him. "How could you forget my birthday?? I turn 17! Let's plan a trip!" My teeth sink into the apple and I notice my dad's arm drop to his side and his body stiffens on the spot.
A few seconds pass and I watched worriedly. He's forgotten my birthday before but I've never seen him in so much shock because of it, or anything for that matter.
"Um...Dad?" I wave my hand in front of his face. "You alrig-"
He suddenly snaps out of it and looks at me, then gives me a weary smile. "You better hurry for school kiddo, you only have 23 minutes till class starts and you still have a 30 minute walk there, better start running."
"It's fine, my friend is picking me up cause the pathway through the woods is muddy from last night's rain." I said, grabbing a cookie from the counter and putting it in my backpack. I make my way out of the kitchen, to the front door and I slip on my (f/c) converse and open the front door. "I'm gonna start walking though and meet them halfway, later dad!"
"Be extremely careful, and stay out of the woods today." He yells to me before I set foot on the porch. The air around him was noticeably more serious than usual.
Though, what he said caught me off guard. Its tradition for me to stop by and relax at a pond, somewhat deep in the woods, everyday after school. It would be my place to wait until my father would come home from work. I give him a questioning look and he notices.
"Just listen to me this time (y/n), don't enter the woods today."
I've never doubted my father but I wish he would tell me reasons for the things he says and does sometimes. I sigh, defeated and still tired.
