Flint, still unable to move due to the shock Raijin had hit him with, watched as his uncle did battle with the demon herself. All the while, Cinder was standing a mere 100 feet from him. He could so easily cover that distance if only he could move. He twitched his hand, realizing that the paralysis was wearing off. It wouldn't be long now, soon Flint would be released from the paralysis.
His neck suddenly unfroze, allowing him to look up. His eyes landed on the ferocious battle to which he was blind to previously.
Raijin landed a devastating kick to Cassinova's rib cage, but then Cassinova recoiled and sent Raijin flying with a roundhouse kick. Flint felt his left arm become free, lifting himself up slightly.
Raijin suddenly left forward, dirt covering his black jacket. He lead with his knee, lodging it into Cassinova's rib age yet again. Before, she showed no sign of pain but now she was sent reeling. Cassinova jacked up a small amount of blood, then stood up. She smiled, enjoying herself and charging once more.
Flint's eyes locked themselves onto Cinder, whom was staring happily at their baby. His fiancé' eyes darted up once, sending a message that only someone who knew her as well as Flint did would get.
"Help me."
Flint felt his entire body release, his anger returning. Now, however, he didn't transform. He merely activated his semblance once more, electricity vibrating around him. Cassinova and Raijin looked at him, surprised by the sudden rise in power.
"Say goodbye, w*ore." Flint stated, then disappeared.
He reappeared in front of Cassinova, launching her back with a mere touch of his knuckles.
----
Ozpin looked at the metal device Raijin had handed him before he left. The device was a heart monitor, and given that the name atop was Odair Lockryder, Ozpin took a guess that the heart monitor was Odair's. What surprised him the most, however, was that the device was beginning to malfunction.
Either that or Odair was dying. Ozpin agreed with that statement, thinking that it was the only way Flint would save Cinder and himself.
Hopefully.
"Ozpin." A familiar female voice called. Ozpin looked up to meet Glynda's peircing eyes. However, her eyes were not the usual stone-cold peircing blue, but a more curious sky-blue.
"Is there something you'd want, Glynda?" Ozpin asked, his brow rising in curiosity.
"It's about Flint. If he is the Fall Guardian, why is it that his semblance is the ability to control electricity? Shouldn't he have a semblance in relation to his season? After all, his father had the ability to corrode any object, as long as the object did not have blood or flesh. The Fall Guardian before his father had the ability to summon a swarm of leaves to dominate the battlefield. So why does he have electricity as a semblance?" Glynda asked. Her blue eyes watched Ozpin's face, looking for any sign of an answer. Ozpin sighed, mentally preparing himself to answer her long and grueling question.
"Electricity is not his original semblance. His original semblance is the ability to absorb and copy any semblance he chooses. This is the ability of Fall, symbolizing the synchronization and transition of seasons from the warmest to the coldest season."
"So he absorbed someone else's semblance?" Glynda asked, finally deciphering her friend's complex answer. Ozpin nodded his head, then he noticed the silence.
The heart monitor had suddenly stopped beeping.
----
Flint landed another punch onto Cassinova's face, then kneed her in the gut. Blood spewed from her as she struggled against Flint, but she wasn't done yet. Not by a long shot. Flint continued hammering the devil, throwing his all into the fight. He only stopped when he landed an enormous blow to her stomach, sending her flying once more.
Cassinova suddenly roared, then threw her head back. Her roar increased the longer she roared, her voice browning louder with each second. Soon, Flint felt her power rise. It peaked after an eternity, Cassinova breathing hard from the effort of releasing her true strength. Flint gawked at her. She was so powerful that he actually felt his bones quiver in fear as his body was being wrecked by waves of her power.
Cassinova stopped screaming, a large smirk spreading across her face. She suddenly appeared in front of Flint, her claws lodged inside his stomach. Flint gripped her arm, not allowing her to escape. He coughed up blood, the mortal wound already drawing its desired affect. Flint raised his left leg, hitting Cassinova as hard as he could. He sent her into the air, then immediately collapsed on the ground. Blood poured from his new and deep wound. He hacked up more blood.
But through all of this, Cinder was merely watching. Her expression was one of shock, but also expectant. She had expected Cassinova to dominate easily, but she hadn't expected Flont to stand once more. She hadn't expected Flint to flash her one of his signature smiles, she hadn't expected for him to look her in the eyes.
She hadn't expected for Cassinova's claws to rip through his chest violently, his heart exploding right in front of her.
She could have sworn that he mouthed "Goodbye" to her.
But then again, she hadn't expected that.
