"Where are you going?" My mothers screechy voice shouted from the kitchen.

"Why do you care!" I retaliated

"Because I am your mother and you will not talk to me like that! I won't tolerate it!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Screw off!" I ended, winning the argument as always. She froze in shock just long enough for me to swiftly exit the door and slam it behind me.

"I honestly don't know what she's surprised about, it's not like this hasn't happened before." I spoke into the phone I had been clutching to my ear the whole time. Alex and Lexie giggled at my statement.

"Okay, we're down the street." Lexie    said.

"Hurry up Bitch." Alex jokingly added. The call was ended and I hurried along the sidewalk, Alex's car in sight.

"I said hurry up" Alex spoke, popping the 'p' as I hopped over the door and slid in next to Lexie.

"Go to hell if you think I'm gonna run in these heels." Lexie and I laughed as Alex pretended to feel hurt. "I see you got Heck's convertible. Nice."

"Yeah, he let me borrow it and gave me fifty bucks. Too bad the old guy can't stay longer than the weekend. I'd ask him to if it didn't mean his daughter staying."

"God I hate that jackass. If she were my cousin I'd-" Lexie began.

"Knock her head in? Same." I chuckled.

"Nice shirt." Alex directed towards me, changing the subject. "It really brings out your eyes." She sneered sarcastically.

"And your boobs..." Lexie added. "Ow!" She shouted as I slapped her on the arm. "Hey! It's not my fault there the size of Texas!" She held her hands up in surrender as we laughed on.

Once the convertible finally strolled to a stop, we got out and entered The shop.

"So, what are we getting today?" The man at the front desk asked us. Lexie and Alex both turned sharply and looked at me.

"I-uh..." I knew what was coming, but the thought still scared the shit out of me. "I'm..."

"Stutter much?" Alex interrupted. "She's getting a piercing. Actually three piercings. Viper on the lip and an eyebrow."

"Got it. Name?" The man asked.

     "May Parks." I answered myself.

"Okay, come back at 4:20 and we'll be ready." Yes! I had time before I had to face my death.

"So, what do ya want to do?" Lexie asked.

"How about get an outfit for the ONP Saturday?" I suggested. This was a huge deal, but we didn't make a deal out of it. An ONP was an over night party. Only seniors were invited, and, being seniors as of last month, we couldn't miss our first one.

"Do you think your mom will let you go after the show you two put on?" Alex asked.

"Please, you know what'll happen. She thinks about me, then thinks about how my dad could've raised me better. Then she thinks of my dad and how he died. Then thinks of him again and how he knocker her up at seventeen. Then thinks of how she's a terrible role model, and mother. In the end she drinks till she passes out and either forgets all about it or feels to guilty to punish me. Problem solved."

"Okay then, well, let's go." Alex decides. We walk a few stores down and end up at Jel's, an outlet close enough to the Tattoo/Piercing parlor for my taste. We browse through a few racks before heading to the dressing rooms.
