Ch.1: We're A Team
The weather was rainy and dreary outside of the Tower. It was in that awkward stage between fall and winter, where it hasn't quite snowed yet. It was pouring down; flood warnings were all over the news. The Titans didn't have to worry about that, but they did have to worry about Starfire. She was knocked out and put into a coma.
Robin knew he shouldn't've let her go this one time. It was too dangerous for her. He never cared before; fighting was what she did best. But this one time, it was too dangerous for her. But she insisted and he gave in. Why did she have to be so persuasive?!
They all hated remembering that horrible night. It wasn't the mission that was dangerous, really, but the weather. The mission went fine, but a tornado came through, picked her up, and threw her. The rest of them were unharmed, but Starfire was hurt. Bad. Three broken bones and a concussion that led to a coma.
The gang just stood around in starfires' room waiting. Just waiting for something to happen. The air was thick and hard to breathe in from all the emotions radiating from each person.
"Do you think she'll wake up soon?" Beast Boy asked in an almost trembling voice. His question just hung in the air. Everyone deep in thought. Oh, he was defiantly worried. Everyone was worried. Especially Robin.
About a week after the incident had happened, he blamed himself for everything. Nothing had been the same since. It was difficult to fight too. We were all so exhausted from just thinking of Starfire. Now it seemed like she would just lie there forever.
"Dammit!," Robin cursed "If i hadn't let her go this wouldn't have happened!" He then suddenly turned around and punched the wall with full force.
"Robin! What're you doing?" Cyborg practically yelled at him while racing over.
When Robin finally released his hand from the wall his knuckles were dripping blood. He hissed at the pain, but instantly forgot about it when he saw Starfire lying in the bed again. All my fault. Robin whispered to himself.
"It's not your fault, bro" Beast boy sighed crossing over the room to get by him along with Cyborg.
When they both got close enough by Robin, he whipped his head towards Cyborgs' direction and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"You're right it's not my fault... It's yours! We're supposed to look out for each other! If you could've warned her THIS wouldn't be happening!" Robin yelled into Cyborgs' face.
"And you Raven!," Robin hissed letting go of Cyborg and walking over to the corner were Raven stood. "..Could'nt you have grabbed her before she was thrown?!"
Robin stood there in front of raven. Starring right in her eyes, looking for answers.
"WELL?!" Robin yelled. Before he could do anything he would regret, Cyborg picked up Robin and threw him against the wall.
"Look here Robin, we all care as much as you do! We're all worried..."
"LET ME GO!-"
"Stop, just listen for a second!" Cyborg yelled while pushing Robin back against the wall. "We're all a team and right now you sure as HELL aren't going to blame anyone, ANYONE on this! You got that?!" Cyborg exclaimed while jabbing a finger at Robin.
Realizing what he was doing, Cyborg released his grip on Robin; letting out a sigh, and backed away.
The four of them just stood there as if time just froze. Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy just stared at robin watching for what he would do next.
Robin just stood there looking down at the floor then back up to meet starfires' unconscious body. What am I doing? Robin thought to himself.
"I-I didn't mean-'' Robin tried explaining
"I'm going." Raven interrupted as she walked away from the spot she once stood and over to the door. "We're all worried..." She mumbled. And with that she left the room with a quiet bang.
Soon after Cyborg followed and with that Beast Boy.
"You went too far this time, Robin." Beast boy said as he exited. "Raven was blaming herself this whole time too. You were just too caught up to actually be a leader this time." And with that Robin was left in the room.
Staring down at his shaking hands, he slowly made his way over to starfire and kneeled beside the bed. He then grabbed her hand and gently kissed it.
"Starfire... "
