I was never the person that wanted to be center of attention. On the other hands the friends I had were the opposite. Not caring if I wanted or didn't want to do something. Me simple old Grace. I was the responsible one , the smart and nerdy one, the family daughter, someone who'd prefer to have books over makeup. Junior year was fun but it didn't get exciting for me until I met him. It's like that moment you find the spoon for the Nutella bottle. One step away from savoring the mysterious goodness of Nutella. He was my Nutella.
My friends . Ha. I laugh who can call them friends. Oh right me? Friends you trust to keep you secrets or tell you off for not telling the guy you like, well obvioulsly you like him. They weren't friends. Friends were long gone and replaced by people who have themselves tittles in the stupidity that is high school. Fuck this right ? Well no we can't just tell these people off or else your left to be the weird loner. Nobody wants to be pointed out especially in high school. High schools a big mess from newbies to dramatic plastic teenagers. You got the responsible ones and the crazy ones.
Everyone says high school love doesn't last. Sometimes people say that because their relationship didn't last . If it even applies to them. I can't say that I'm an expert and that all relationships fail no matter what I'm high school. But isn't high school the last years to full around before becoming an adult with responsibilities? So why did I take high school like it was an exhausting job I didn't want to show up for ? Right ... I lost everyone that believed in me. Nobody bothered to ask "How's Grace?" . The only person who cared deeply than all my friends combined was dead. He brought a smile to my face everyday no matter how much I dreaded the day. Christopher Canon. Fancy name for someone so simple . He didn't sound at all as what he look liked. He wasn't a posh teenager, he was dark hearted gangbanger. He wasn't the perfect family guy but the one who was always arrested. Chris wasn't the one that you could read from the outside, but instead have to dig in under the skin to find who he was. He didn't even know who he was. That mysterious aroma was what brought me to him. Not the lack of affection from my friends or family but the feeling of doing something bad and prohibited by everyone
He was my high school love, even if I never said I loved him.
