PROLOGUE:
"Princess Rayne, it's time to get up. Your father will be here in two hours to escort you to the banquet." Slowly getting up I looked at Fey, my maid and practically mother. She stood there smiling holding up a beautiful dress and a dreadful corset. Nodding my head I swung my legs over the side of my bed and walked over to bathroom. Looking into the mirror I saw my hair was still a little damp from the shower I took before my nap. Running some cold water and splashing my face I was, finally, fully awake. Walking back into my room I looked at Fey with a distasteful look stopping in front of her. She just laughed as she handed the bottom of the dress to me.
"Rayne, Dear, after 17 years you should of grown accustomed to wearing the corset. No matter how many unpleasant glares you give me or the dress you still have to wear it." Fey explained chuckling as she helped to pull the skirt up. I glared at her once more as she motioned for me to turn around until I couldn't see her anymore and settled for giving the floor my death glares. I could feel the fabric going around me and placed my hands on the foot board of my bed and sucked in. I felt Fey's graceful hands quickly tying the corset. Finally I breathed out, only a little, before Fey had my hand pulling me into the bathroom.
"Now what should we do with this?" Fey mused holding a strand of my, now, dry hair. "Ah, that's what we shall do!" She exclaimed grabbing a brush smiling to herself.
An hour and twenty minutes later I stood in front of the mirror admiring Fey's handy work. My light, light brown hair was pulled up into a elegant bun with my bangs slightly curled and pulled to the side. My blazing fire like eyes, they're red around the the edge and fades into orange all the way to the iris with yellow specks scattered all around the iris, were out lined in a light eyeliner. My light pink lips pulled into a natural pout shimmered with lip gloss.
My dress also looked nice. The corset was a solid white with a light baby blue frill trim. The corset was on top of my skirt which was a light blue/white color that flowed down my hips to my ankles in shimmering blue/white waves. I nodded my head in approval to Fey who only smiled as a knock came from my door.
"Rayne, Darling, it's time to go; all the guest have arrived." My father said through the door. Hugging Fey quickly and slipping on some shoes I opened the door and smiled brightly at my dad. "You ready?" Nodding I walked towards the ballroom, my dad in tow.
After I made my appearance and had a dance with my father I walked outside to the garden. The moon was high and glowing brightly casting light upon the small fountain. Sitting on the rim of the fountain I skimmed my hands above the water. Sighing I turned my head away from the shimmering water and saw a beautiful man before me. His hair was a curly strawberry blonde mess upon his head and he had a figure of a model. His eyes were a crimson red and frightening yet at the same time luring and enchanting. When he had spoke his voice captivated me.
"Hello Love," he spoke in a heavy British accent, "how are you on this lovely night?"
"I'm fine." I replied looking back at the water keeping my wandering eyes away from the strange man before me.
"Well that's good to hear. Might I ask why you are out here by yourself?"
Nodding my head I faced him, "I need a little fresh air. Now might I ask, who you are?"
Chuckling he said, "my name is Caleb," taking my hand he kissed it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Princess. I hope you grow as fond of me as I am of you."
"What do yo-" before I could finish my sentence I felt something puncture my throat as Caleb's hands snaked around my waist and held my body up. I did not scream out, for my voice was caught in my throat being drained with the blood inside my veins. I just stood there letting my eyes fall down blocking the world around me. I gasped for breath painfully as I opened my eyes one last time. As I did an unbearable pain blazed through my body. I let a small whimper out as the pain coursed through my body starting in my neck and slowly reached all through my veins. That time when my eyes shut I let the pain take me.
