Finally, complete silence.
No more war. No more tragedies. No more hunger, pain, anger, or depression.
Nothing.
The Rapture had finally happened taken place on Earth, wiping out all of humanity. Contrary to common beliefs the Rapture was not meant to separate the believers from non-believers. There was never going to be any trials determining the strength of the humans beliefs. All the tribulations and trials the humans thought up because of fear was just that, fear of the unknown.
They had no idea of the destruction that would take place.
Millions of lives were lost in the first day. Cities destroyed, mountains crumbled to the ground and into the rivers below. Dead bodies lain in the streets as the disfigured shadows ravaged what was formerly known as Earth. The Demons flew through the cities and towns to clean up the remaining humans that cowered in their homes, pleading helplessly for their lives.
No remorse was shown as they were slaughtered like the pigs they were.
And just like that, they were no more.
But there had to be more. There always had to be more.
This is where they stood now, on Saisei. The new Earth, reborn. 'They' being the Angels and the Demons. They roamed Saisei freely and without cause. This was something they hadn't seen in millennial. It was so pure, untainted by the humans to come so they milked every second they had on the empty planet.
High in the Heavens was a hall of great magnitude. Marble pillars aligned the walls trimmed with silver and gold. Glowing orbs filled with black and white floated in the Great Hall, neither having the perfect amount of good or evil. Some had more good than evil, others the opposite. Not one was perfectly balanced. A single Angel paired with a Demon watched over the orbs and carefully measured the amounts of good and evil within each orb.
"These will be the new humans on Saisei." The Angel spoke, his voice like silk. Bright green eyes watched carefully as he poured the pure essence of Light into an empty orb. A large scythe rested on his back, silver and shimmery blue in color. Small yet sharp flame like accents adorned the top of the blade. "We mustn't get the calculations wrong."
The Demons chuckle sounded warped and garbled, like gravel in a blender. Glowing red eyes rolled in their sockets as they poured pure darkness into the orb, this one holding more light than dark. The Demon was something out of a nightmare. Body as black as the deepest abyss, jagged appendages protruded from her hands and feet, tinged with red.
"What make you tink I mess the caculations up?" The Demon twirled the large red and black scythe in her sharp fingers. Much like her fingers, the scythe was adorned with sharp red blades along the main blade. Five dark red orbs hovered in place at the top of the blade.
The Angel scoffed, letting the orb ascend high in the Hall.
"You've been known to make mistakes in the past Dimal."
"Ha!" Dimal snorted. "Name one."
The Angel let his hands rest on his hips as he looked at the Demon before him, irritation evident in his cocked eyebrow.
"You let a hound loose in Hell and it caused the earthquake in Haiti! Not to mention the tsunami in Japan!"
"Boy tat was what, tree tousand years ago?" She scoffed and turned to face away from the Angel. "Get off ya high horse Ganja. You done makin' mitakes as well."
Ganja took an empty orb into his fingers. He walked in front of Dimal and flashed the orb in her face.
"We have a job to do, now lets get back to it."
The woman grinned, flashing sharp teeth his way.
"As ya wish mi'lord." Ganja groaned at the sarcastic tone which made Dimal laugh loudly. "Ya know," her eyes looked over the hundreds of orbs, "We could leave dem here orbs an have some fun wit de others on Saisei."
Ganja filled the orb with light, only half paying attention to the Demon beside him. He felt sharp fingers lightly scrape against his neck, a black wing encasing his body. Dimal's voice spoke lowly in his right ear. "Come on Ganja. When the last time ya broke da rules?"
Green met red, one pair filled with annoyance and the other filled with mischievousness.
"Dimal, I have no desire to roam Saisei with you. Now please," he flicked her wing with his thumb, "Release me."
"Buzzkill." She mumbled but reluctantly let Ganja go. The two worked silently for the next few hours, until an unseen voice shook the very walls of the Hall.
"Ganja. Dimal. Bring the souls to the Gate."
Ganja looked to the ceiling, a half filled orb in his hands. "But sir, we are not done! We have a few dozen-"
"I did not ask how many you had left, did I?"
The Angel stayed quiet while Dimal snickered from her place at the base of a pillar.
"Bring the orbs to the Gate. Now."
Dimal chortled and tossed an orb into the air, catching it with her foot. "That boss of yours sure is rude, don't cha tink?"
Receiving a glare from the male, she merely smirked and stood. The two gathered the orbs in the Hall and took them to the Gate, transferring them to the guards. It took no more than ten minutes to have the millions of orbs in one place. Hundreds of Demons and Angels kept the orbs contained. Dimal held a half filled orb in her hands. She eyed the orb questioningly, leaning closer to Ganja who stood with a scroll in his hands.
"Hey Ganja."
"Hmm?"
Dimal spun the orb on her fingertip.
"What would happen if an orb was filled perfectly with de light and dark?"
"It has never been done nor is there anything in the scrolls about such a thing happening." He walked towards the orbs, gently tapping a few. "Hurry up and help me Dimal."
Dimal held the orb up behind Ganja, a grin on her face.
"Ya done miss one Ganja."
Just as she expected, Ganja put his hand on the orb without looking and filled it with light. The orb was filled with the perfect amount of light and dark and Dimal meant to keep it as a memento of her time in Heaven but it was snatched from her hands by an Angel. She tried to get the orb back but it was too late.
The Angels began to drop the orbs on Saisei, the perfect orb among the first to fall.
Dimal flew past the gates with ease. She scanned the orbs that fell from the Heavens but was unable to locate the orb.
"Damn!"
She stopped abruptly. Her wings flapped in the air, keeping her suspended in the air. She brought the scythe to her hands out of thin air and twirled it between her fingers.
"I'll find ya anotha time little orb."
Dimal let the scythe hover in the air before her, unaware of the tidal wave of orbs coming down above her. She was bombarded by thousands of them. The demon searched the air for her scythe but couldn't locate the weapon of Death.
Before her own eyes the orbs flashed images of the humans they will become. She was so distracted by the spectacle she almost forgot about her dilemma. Dimal weaved through the orbs towards Saisei, but was stopped by a forceful hand on her wing.
Ganja.
"Dimal what do you think you are doing?! You know we can't cross the border!"
She cursed and watched as the orbs fell to the surface gracefully. Dimal swore she would get the scythe back, even if it took hundreds of years to locate.
