The pain thrummed through her skull. She could barely hold her pencil, let alone process the writing on whatever assignment she'd been passed. Tears brimmed at her eyes, and her throat stiffened as she made another realization that she would be forced to make it through the day.
As soon as she passed the entrance of the Hope's Peak, she looked for Mikan. Her nursing abilities and caring attitude, not to mention the strongly shared love between the two girls, would help greatly, she thought hopefully.
Upon seeing the nurse's purple locks as the girl bounded forward, she warned her to slow herself before she fell. Mikan barely stopped herself, but she remained stable on her feet. Before giving Peko a worried look, she held the girl in a tight, loving embrace.
When she winced in pain, the nurse could already identify the most likely problem, so she walked her to her home. As soon as they arrived at her house, Mikan led Peko to her bed and ran out of the room to run a bath and find a few of many ailments.
Once Mikan had left, her girlfriend began to cry. She knew it wouldn't help the pain, but she needed to let it go. She soon began to sob, letting her problems one by one seem greater and greater. When the nurse arrived back in her room, she set down her bag and climbed on the bed, cuddling the girl and making sure she knows she's there. Peko cried into her hair, trying to relax and feel the nurse's deep breathing to aid her own. Not long after, Mikan pulled away from the gray-hair girl's embrace. Peko let herself seep into the bed, tired and in pain. Mikan first handed her a pill and some water, then pulled a heating blanket over her. She drifted into sleep in her nurturer's embrace, dreaming about the two of them together.
