Idyll

A warm  summer breeze gently tosses you hair back and forth
Lush green grass underfoot, a large tree casting a shadow over a small brook
The grass looks inviting so you sit down under the tree, it protecting you from the sun
You soon find yourself lulled into a state of sleep as the wind hums through the leaves of the trees above you and the brook babbles on

We Are the Lights

You take a seat in the alone in one of the many booths in the desert roadside diner, ordering a coffee and settle into the red vinyl seat
The long day of driving across the country had taken its toll on you and you just wanted to rest
Suddenly a woman comes up to you, grabbing your hand and pulling you from you warm beverage
You mumble something about having to get back on the road, but she ignores you
She leads you to a Jeep with the top down and gesters for to get in
You were reluctant at first but finally cave, letting the woman drive you to where ever she desired
She takes a windy path up a small mountain finally stopping when she made it to the top
What you see takes your breath away: beautiful canvas of the sky painted blues, pinks, purples and oranges, the stars just starting to wink to life in the inky blackness of the void
The woman chuckles, grabbing you attention
You turn to see a blanket laid out and that beautiful woman beckoning you to join her
She smiles and leans in close, brushing her lips against your ear
I hope you like it here
Her voice is like silk against your ear, sending shivers down your spine
I never want to leave
Is your reply
