The night was dark and stormy. All you could hear was the sound of the wind pounding on your windows and walls as if it were begging to come inside; trying to escape the storm. A chill was sent up my spine as the wind punded on my window. My stepmother called from downstairs, "Hey Aubrey, do you mind calling your father and asking him if he could run to the store to grab a few things for dinner after work?" I yelled back, "Sure can do!" The phone was ringing in my ear and my dads voice bellowed in my ear. "Hello?" I said. "What'cha need, Bree?" Asked my dad. "Payton wanted to know if you could run to the store after work and grab a few things for dinner." "What do I need to grab?" My dad asked. I took the phone from my ear and yelled down to Payton. "What does dad need to get from the store?!" "He needs to get white rice, chicken, and carrots!" "Okay!" I put the phone back onto my ear so that my dad could hear me once again. "She wants white rice, chicken, and carrots." "Okay, sweetie, love you, bye." Before I could say anything, he hung up. That's the thing with my dad, he doest let you say anything before the conversation ends

I heard the front door open and my dad say, "Honey, I'm home!" Like they say in the movies. He does that every time and I love it. I ran downstairs to hug him but he was no where to be seen. He was probably in his office working, again... I hate whenever he comes home, he works until dinner and then goes back to work after that. I saw the groceries by the front door. "Hey, honey, where are the groceries?" Payton asked my dad. "Hey Payton." I said in a mockingly voice. She looked over and I was pointing at the bags of food. "Isn't your dad funny? He's just so funny." Payton went to the kitchen to start dinner.
