Gently reaching for her aching head as her eyes swarmed into focus, Victoria Morrison realised that she was somewhere unfamiliar but at the same time she felt so close to home. She looked around and caught a pair of large, deadly eyes, watching evey move she made. Sooner, there weren't only one pair of eyes. More and more started to appear.
Beads of sweat started to form on Vicky's forehead. She slowly backed away untill she found herself leaning against the cold walls which she assumed was the walls of the cave. She couldn't belive what she was seeing. Those creatures with large, deadly eyes are dragons. A full-sized fire breathing dragons.
Suddenly, some of the dragons moved away from each other as if making way for something. Vicky squinted her eyes to see what it was. It turns out to be another dragon. Only much more huge and its body is covered in fiery-red scales with black tip, making it look majestic.
Vicky was awed, alright. A part of her was horrified but the other felt safe near that majestic dragon. Its golden eye watched nowhere else but her as it aproaches. The closer it gets, the weaker her knees were. It causes Vicky to loose balance and the majestic dragon immidiately transformed into a boy around Vicky's age, seventeen, or probbably a year or two older, whom caught Vicky before she fell.
" Seriously, lady. You call yourself a witch?" He laughed as he steadied her. " Witches aren't suppose to be afraid of dragons, you know,"
Vicky's cheeks burn. To cover it up she glared at him. " I am not afraid of dragons! I...I was just ... um ... shocked," She stuttered " By the way, dragons had extinct centuries ago. So, if this is some kind of a sick joke, you better quit it! Besides, who or what are you? A were-dragon?!"
" Famous last words," He smirked " Witches don't really have answer for everything do they? Come on. We'll talk inside," He started walking towards a large door at the end of the cave.
" I am not going anywhere with you!" Vicky stamped her feet stubbornly. " Just so you know, witches do have answer for everything. Its just that ... that I am not like them. I am just me,"
He stopped walking and turned towards her. " What do you mean by you're just you?"
Vicky could hear the frustration in his voice. WELL, THAT SERVES HIM RIGHT,She thought. IF HE WANTED ME TO DO SOME MAGIC OR WHAT-SO-EVER POTION FOR WHATEVER REASON, HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAT THERE MORE WITCHES OUT THERE WITH POWERS TO HELP HIM. ME? I USED TO BE A WITCH BUT NOW, I NO LONGER HAVE POWERS.
" Look, I know that you no longer have powers. That doesn't mean that you useless or weak. There are reasons why that happen. There are reasons why you're here," He searched Vicky's faced but she looked away not wanting to meet his gazed. He sighed. " Come on. Its cold out here,"
Vicky stood there silently for a moment and then gave up because it was cold out here. She was already shivering. Noticing that, the dragon-boy took off his leather jacket and placed it over Vicky's shoulder as they walked.
His house was huge and luxirious. Vicky couldn't help but to stare. Something in her says that she had been here but as usual she couldn't sum it up.
"Seriously, stop staring like that. Its not like you've never been-," He stopped himself, definitely not finishing his sentence and changed the subject. "By the way, your room is on the second floor to the right. If you need anything before dinner, I'll be in my room. The one which is opposite to yours,"
Vicky nodded. The unfinished sentence the dragon-boy said keeps on playing over and over in her head. Questions swarm in her mind. Had she been here before? Is it why she felt so close to home? Vicky sighed. It all just gets more complicated.
Again, she was puzzled. This time by her room. It is not because how awesome it was with the big screen TV and the whole surround system or a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi, its because of the pictures hanging on the wall. Most of the picture are of her from when she was a baby and until the age of 10. Some are of her with him, the dragon-boy. It all get much more complicated when she realized the dragon-boy hadn't aged at all.
Still confused and finally getting a grip of herself, she made a little promised that she would find all the answers to her mind aching questions. For now, a hot bath was just the thing Vicky needed badly. After all, it had been a rough day.
Wrapping herself in a towel, she went to check the closet in her room hoping to find some clothes and to her relief there were plenty of clothes for her to choose from. After a few long minutes she decided to put on a peach coloured shirt with a purple sweater over it since its freaking cold and a brown corduroy jeans to go with.
She opened the door of her room and came face to face with that were-dragon boy. "What the hell?!" she shrieked.
" GOSH, VICKY!! Seriously, do I scare you that much even if I'm still in my human form?"
" Well," she shot him a death glare. " You could have knock."
" As if I could," he snorted. Vicky tried to say something but she could'nt. Her tongue went stiff out the sudden as well as her body. Everything around her begin to spin faster and faster. She felt as if she was caught in the middle of a tornado. After a few minute the spinning stop and she reliezed that she was no longer in the room with that were-dragon boy.
