"How much farther is this stupid highway, Holly?" I demanded as we were walking down a pave-road on the outskirts of Pasadena, California. "It doesn't matter. If we head into town now there's a large chance that we would have to fight a horde." Holly answered as we approached a trailer-park on a dead-end.

When we came up on the small houses we stopped just to make sure there weren't any vaulters in the perimeter. We quietly stalked around to the back side of the house towards the door. I whispered for Charlie to hand me his knife. I took it and tried my best to pry the lock. It didn't work, so I just busted the window. I reached in and unlocked the door, and we all walked in and started searching cabinet. In the midst of scavenging we heard a muffled noise in the master bedroom. I walked over and slowly crept open the door. The noise was coming from the closet. When I opened it I looked down to see a guy with tape over his mouth screaming.

I jumped back quickly, only to realize his hands were tied together. Everyone rushed into the room, weapons at hand. "Who are you?" I asked with a demeaning stare. I told Charlie to take the tape off and he started talking instantly. "Ay' man, the name's Mark. I was going to get supplies and then someone knocked me in the noggin'. Then I woke up in this house and then you guys found me."

I knew he wasn't lying. The story was too detailed to be fake. And even if it was, we'd find out soon or a later. I didn't know what to say back to him. Should I calm him down? Do I untie him? Maybe he could help us? "Team," I said. "Discussion outside."
