"You should feel lucky-"
"-you're a Metamorphmagus Leah-"
"-or you'd have next to no hair left."
Leah glared up at Fred and George and rolled her eyes. "Shut up." she mumbled.
"Ohhhh," came the reply, "Leah got out the wrong side of bed today."
Leah responded by taking a massive bite out of her toast then sticking her tongue out.
As she swallowed her toast, Harry plopped down next to her, "Nice to see you sitting here again." he greeted. Leah grimaced and forced a smile, "Morning Harry, how have you been?" she replied sarcastically.
Harry grinned and gave her a quick kiss.
"Awww," came a cry in unison, "So sweet, like sugar,"
"or sweets," Fred added,
"Or chocolate." George finished.
Leah rolled her eyes again and shoved her plate away, "Is it annual 'Be-A-Prat-And-Annoy-Leah day?" she questioned seriously.
Fred opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by a soft voice. "Be quiet and leave the poor girl alone." Leah grinned as George's current girlfriend, strict but fun to be around, Stella Rose scolded both boys.
They shared a look, before sitting down, "At least it wasn't Hermione." Harry mumbled.
As Stella took a seat next to him, George glanced uo, "No offence Leah-"
"But why peach?" Fred finished.
Leah smiled and tugged a strand of her new peach hair, "It reminds me of peaches and cream," she grinned.
Ron, who had just joined the group, frowned, "But, you can't eat cream." he stated, Leah nodded, "But in the muggle world they do dairy free products," she explained.
Ron nodded, before pulling a bowl of boiled eggs towards his plate.
Fred and George grinned, causing Leah to frown, she knew that grin, that grin was bad. "What?" she asked, Fred raised an eyebrow, "Nothing... just planning." Leah shook her head, but let them be.
As everyone started chatting, Leah found herself daydreaming. Something she did alot, normally at the worst of times.
She'd recived a letter from her older cousin that morning, telling her that he'd married his best friend from his Hogwarts years. Leah's heart had melted a little, happy that her favorite family member had settled down.
Mackenzie was her favorite for three reasons. First, he always listened to her, no matter what she was ranting about. Two, his hugs were the best, they's always make Leah feel safe and cared for, and Third, he always wrote to her, christmas, birthdays and just to catch up, always.
She had replied with a quick congratulations, and an update on the changes at Hogwarts.
Leah glanced up from her plate, and frowned at the new teacher, Umbridge. She'd been here two weeks, and people were already branding her 'Umbitch'.
"Leah?"
Leah was dragged out of her thoughts when someone called her name. She glanced up, and saw Harry watching her with a worried expression. Leah smiled, "Yeah?"
Harry frowned, "Are you OK?"
Leah nodded, "Fine." she reassured him. She glanced down at her cold toast, and sighed. "I have to go see Madam Pomfrey."
Harry's frown grew, "Why?" he asked, a touch of nervousness creeping into his voice.
"Pills," Leah said, not really paying attention to the words slipping out of her mouth. Ron's eyebrows shot up, "Blimey! Are you and Harry...." he half shouted, causing many student to glance up, he trailed off when Leah glared daggers at him. "No. Shut up. Goodbye." Leah smiled quickly and kissed Harry on the lips, before pulling away and startong to walk out of the great hall, trying to ignore the youngest Weasley's glares at her.
On her way out of the hall, she saw Neville with his arm around Luna, a faraway expression on his face, Leah giggled and waved at Luna, who smiled, and turned back to her upside down Quibbler.
As I entered the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey glanced up from a patient, her eyes lit up and she scurried over to me. "I've been expecting you, dear."
Leah grinned and nodded. Digging into her pocket, Madam Pomfrey bought out a small tin. "Theese should do the trick." she pressed it into Leah's hand, and then glanced up at her, "Oh, dearie, you look just like your mother. She was in here all the time you know? Cuts and bruises, all from Quidditch."
Leah smiled sweetly. She had heard it all before, but Madam Pomfrey was such a kind woman... to her at least.
"Thank you." she said quickly. The elderly woman nodded, and wandered back to her patient.
"Fall over again, Leah?"
Leah spun around and glared at Blaise and Draco. "No." answered. Blaise grinned, "Nice hair." Leah blushed as a piece of vibrant red hair fell in her face. Leah frowned, and concentrated, waiting for her hair to turn peach again. When it did, she stuck her tounge out, "You're just jealous,"
Blaise nodded, "Very." he replied sarcastically. Leah frowned.
"So. Is the rumour true? Are you and Potter really doing the nasty?" Draco asked with an innocent face.
Leah's hair turned red again. "Ew. No, I'm only fifteen, and I respect my body. Shut up." she replied, blushing violently.
"Uh. I'm going to class. Goodbye." Leah said quickly, walking past the boys. Draco grabbed her wrist, stopping her. "Leah. You shouldn't be going near Potter. Next time I see the two of you together, I am writing to your parents."
Leah glared up at him, and tore her wrist out of his grip, before walking away, her hair faded, a dark purple waterfull of purple falling down around her shoulders, signalling her anger... and this time, she was more than angry... she was pissed off.
