Jeremy:

The clock on the wall read 6:15. Of their teacher wanted to come back from her meeting, she should've been back three hours ago.

"Well it's official," Oshea announced. "Either Ms. Tom left and went home or she got eaten."

Jeremy looked up at her and looked down. So many thoughts ran through his head. His dead friend who was eaten before their eyes, the monsters lurking outside, and how long they were gonna be trapped here.

"What are we gonna do?" Delance asked softly. Jeremy looked up at everyone. Their eye's falling all on him.

He cleared his throat and stood up. "Those things outside... I've seen them before."

"What do you mean?" Teah asked.

He closes his eyes and continued to speak. "When I passed out earlier. I had a really... strange dream. Those things, they invaded the school and..."

"Ate everyone?" Bronson asked. "Why didn't you say something earlier?"

Jeremy looked across the room, "And have everyone think I'm insane? Listen all I know is we cannot t
Let those things in. And we can't go outside unprotected."

Everyone nodded in unison. "And besides," Jeremy announced. "It's dark out anyways. Hopefully tomorrow the rain stops and we can go outside. Of only there was someplace that we could go to check outside. Like a hole or something."

If they could get to a window or something to see outside, then maybe they could see what the monsters do. And see if anyone comes to help them.

Zach raised his hand. "Er, I may have something that can help us." He got up and walked to the back room. He pushed somethings out of the way to reveal a small hatch. "This little grate leads straight to the security room. Maybe if the power comes back on we can use the surveillance cameras as help."

Jeremy nodded. "Perfect. We can check it now. Alright. I need someone to help me get this grate open. Bronson? Why don't you and Oshea check the kitchen? Maybe make us a little food for dinner? Taylen? I need you, Nick and Josh to do an inventory check. Check on the food and anything else that looks important. Delance and Zach? Set up the chair for dinner. Try and find some light."

Everyone nodded and went to do their jobs.

"What about me?" Kenzie asked.

Jeremy grabbed the screwdriver and tried to open the grate. "You? Your going in with me. I need someone whose fast. Just in case... Yah."

The grate popped open and clattered to the ground. Jeremy crawled into it and army crawled his way in. The ducts all went into different ways, probably leading to different parts of the building.

He could see the security straight ahead. Jeremy crawled forward and pushed on the grate. After about a minute of intense pushing and punching, the grate clattered to the floor.

He crawled out of the vents and helped Kenzie to her feet. "Thanks," Kenzie said.

Jeremy wandered over to the security desk and looked over the monitors. They all showed nothing but darkness. In the faint light that was shown, Jeremy saw a set of keys on a desk.

He grabbed the keys and went to a locker that sat in the corner of the room. He unlocked it and saw an array of miscellaneous things. From papers to even a few pieces of clothing, all belonging to the security guard.

He rummaged through the things and saw a lighter. He picked it up and placed it in his jacket pocket. He continued to look throught the things when he looked up.

On the top shelf of one of the bookcases was a long case. He grabbed a chair and climbed to the top. He grabbed the case and placed it on the table.

He opened the case to reveal a shiny black assault riffle. Kenzie gasped and made her eay over, "Is it real?" she asked.

Jeremy picked it up and looked it over. "It is," he muttered. Why on earth would there be a gun here? On campus? Jeremy checked over everything and placed the gun back in it's case. "Alright, there's nothing more we can do here until we manage to get the power up."

"What are we going to do with the gun?" she asked.

Jeremy sighed. "I think we may have to leave it somewhere safe," he said. "Just in case things go bad. We can't have an open weapon just laying around. I'll lock it up in my locker."

Kenzie nodded and crawled through the grate. Jeremy took one last look around the room, in case he managed to miss something.

He looked over and saw a strange looking door. Half of it was blocked by a small wooden chest. Jeremy knew it wasn't the front door, that door was on the opposite side of the room.

"Jer? You alright?" he heard Kenzie shout through the vent.

"Y-yeah," he shouted. "Hold on, there's somethings I gotta grab. Be right there." He walked over to the desk and pushed it out of the way. He checked the handle, but it was locked. He took the keys out of his pocket and unlocked the door.

He pulled it open and it showed a ladder, probably leading to the attic. He placed the keys back in his pocket and climbed the ladder. Cobwebs dusted the walls of the small room, butbhe managed to blow them out of his face.

He made his way to the top and unhooked a small trap door. He opened it up and rain water flooded in. This ladder leads outside... He thought to himself. A vantage point...

The trapdoor lead straight to the roof. In the distance, he could make out the electric box.

He smiled inwardly. After this hellish day they were blessed to recieve such amazing gifts.

Jeremy shut the door and managed to lock it. Just in case one of those monsters figured out how to get up there.

He made his way down the ladder and threw the gun case in the grate. He made his way through the vents and smiled for the first time today.
