That was it. All the acts finished. Mrs. Mayer went out into the stage gripping a golden envelope in her hands with the winner inside. I could feel my heart racing. I could see Shawn and Mrs. Friar with there fingers crossed. I really wanted to win. But not for me. For Lucas. It took him so much courage to get up on that stage.

Mrs. Mayer: Are the winner of this years talent show is.....

My heart started beating faster and faster.

Mrs. Mayer: Riley Matthews and Lucas Friar!!

We won? We won! I couldn't move my feet were glues to the floor. Lucas pulled me onto the stage with him to go collect are award. I still couldn't believe it.

Mrs. Mayer: Her you are you two. You very much deserve it!

Mrs. Mayer handed me and Lucas are trophy. I still could believe it.

After school me, Shawn, Lucas and Mrs. Friar all went out for frozen yogurt. My favorite. While we were eating I felt my phone vibrate. As I took my phone out if my pocket I was met with an text from an unknown number. As I click on it I felt my tummy turn and my heart drop.

Shawn: Riley, what's wrong?

Riley: Oh nothing.

I put my phone back in my pocket and carried on as normal. But the text was still in the back of my mind. I didn't know what to do. As I got home I threw myself into bed and went to sleep. Hoping by morning it will all be over.

The next morning I didn't dare to look at my phone. I had two unread texts. Both from the unknown number.

I finally got out if bed Slapping some make up one before getting into a pair of light blue worn mid rise shorts a white crop top and a pink kmino. Grabbing my phone ramming it into my bag and walking out the door. As I walked down the hall at school something was different. People were looking at me bit giving me dirty looks. I walked directly to my locker opening it up as a letter fell out. It just read. watch who you trust. I screwed it up before throwing it into the trash. As I started to walk quickly to the football field as I saw Lucas. He wasn't alone. I felt sick I just stood there and watched him with his hands all over another girl. I could feel my tummy turning. I felt sick. The tears just rolling out of my eyes. As I saw Lucas turn to looking at me.

Lucas: Riley I can explain!

Riley: No Lucas save it. You told me that you had changed you said you loved me!  it was all just a lie. You were the reason I got out of bed yesterday, the reason I got up today and you were meant to be the reason why I got up tomorrow.

Lucas: Riley I'm sorry.

Riley: Save it!

I ran through the hall ignoring everyone. I could hardly see through the tears in my eyes. I couldn't breathe. I was wiping away my tears as I felt myself bump into someone.

???: so you found out your perfect boyfriend isn't all that perfect.

Riley: just get out of my way Missy!

Missy: just so you know, you look ugly in that outfit.

I barged passed her running 10 blocks to get home. I slammed the door behind me as Shawn looked at me.

Shawn: Riley honey what's wrong. Come hear.

Shawn opened up his arms pulling me into a hug.

Riley: he cheated on me Shawn. He's cheating on me.

Shawn: I'll kill him.

I went up into my room taking a nap as I heard the door slam shut. I shot up from my bed to find Shawn gone. I ran out of the house forgetting my shoes. As I watched Shawn go up to Lucas.

Shawn: You think it's funny hun? You think it's cute to make your girlfriend cry her self to sleep.

Lucas: no sir.

Shawn: you think it's cool to cheat on your girlfriend?!

Lucas: no sir. I can't help who I am!

Shawn: you're a pig. I've just spent the last hour trying to tell her that it's not her fault.

I could take it anymore. I had to say something.

Riley: What did I do so wrong?! I thought you was happy with me. You said you loved me! If you changed your mind why didn't you just say?

Lucas: I'm sorry okay. I can't help that's who I am.

Riley: Yh, well that's not who I am. I loved you Lucas. And you broke my heart. You were the first person I told my story too. And that mention nothing to you. I don't wanna be hear anymore.

I walked back into my house running up into my room to fall back to sleep. I had to resist the edge to cut and drink.
