"I'm sorry! I swear I have a good reason!" I said to Emil, who's back was against the wall, his face only a few inches away from my beet-red face and my arms on either side of him.
"Well I'm sure you do for putting me in a position as if I'm about to be raped by you." he responded, his tone obviously impatient.
I blushed madly and whipped my head down.
It was after school and I kinda forced Emil to the courtyard and miss his train. 'Well, it's reasonable he's pissed at me...'
"Still going to do those sarcastic remarks, huh.." I muttered under my breath.
"Huh?"
'Ahhh! He heard me...' I thought.
"S-Still going to....." I awkwardly stretched out the 'o' and averted my eyes everywhere but his at the same time.
Emil sighed. "Soooo, what's this 'good reason'?" He made air quotes with his hand while asking that. I inhaled slowly then exhaled. Then I looked straight at his eyes.
Those piercing blue eyes... how unfair.
I looked down, my heart thumping louder than a thunderstorm. "E-Emil... I..I've li- You've were one of my first friends in my first year here. Sure I had other friends b-but, I didn't make them. My other friend did. But y-you.. I genuinely talked to you. I genuinely wanted to make you my friend. I genuinely made you my friend."
I pause, catching my breath. "We joked and I enjoyed our company so much I looked forward to 1st period everyday. I couldn't imagine class without you until summer break where I wasn't able to see you at all.
Once I saw you again that day, I mysteriously felt happy. This feeling... just thinking about you made me happy. After a few weeks, I realized this feeling wasn't thinking of leaving anytime soon... even now.."
I looked to the left side of the male. I was too afraid of seeing his reaction.. My heart was beating too loudly, I was even mentally scolding it. 'Please stop it....'
ThumpThump
"I've been thinking for forever... and I just want to say this..."
ThumpThump
"..Emil..." I pursed my lips, breaking into a cold sweat.
ThumpThump
"I-I like you... a lot, Emil."
Thump
My hands against the wall were moist and balled up in a fist. I waited for his reaction for a few seconds before breaking into a nervous chuckle.
"I-I guess I took too long huh..?" I said in a shaky voice. I look at him, but my shadow was blocking any clues of his reaction.
His eyes weren't looking at me, though.
"Anyways.. since I know you won't make your first move.." I wipe my hand on my skirt before placing it over his eyes; over those kryptonites.
"Hey! What th-" his hands grabbed my wrist, about to protest but stopped abruptly when I gently kissed his nose. The initial plan was to kiss his lips, but I knew I'll never hear the end of it.
His grip on my wrist loosened and I took the chance to run away inside the school.
I didn't look back. Past the infirmary and into the girls' restroom. I leaned against the wall next to the door and slipped down to my knees.
My chest was already beating as fast, it was painful. I hungrily swallowed the air, my panting slowly proceeding back to it's normal pace. I touched my lips unconsciously, an unexperienced sensation was left on my lips.
"Not his lips but good enough.. I think..." I mumbled to nobody. Suddenly I felt my eyes sting and a steam of tears were released, tears slid down my cheeks.
“Wh-Why..? E-Emil.." I hugged my knees and buried my face inbetween, hiccuping and crying to myself, quietly.
I guess I didn't hear the footsteps of said person enter the bathroom and quietly stand over me.
I noticed the shadow casted over me and slowly looked up to see his glaring expression. "Emil..." I said.
"What the hell are you doing there, crying?" Said male asked, an annoyed expression rested on his face. He was clearly out of breath, and that made me a little happy.
I blinked a couple times before forcing a chuckle.
"I didn't think you would've chased after me..." I replied quietly, receiving a "tch" in return.
"Why'd you kiss my nose?" I blushed red in embarressment.
"I wanted you to save your lips for someone better..."
Emil stood there silently and I sat there looking around, awkwardly.
When I thought I've had enough, I stood up to leave, but became immobile when Emil blocked my path with his hand on the wall, forcing me to go against the wall, his shining eyes looking straight at me. We stayed like that for a second before he leaned towards me, his lips on mine.
The world froze and my eyelids dropped close. Instead of beating uncontrollably, my heart instead was skipping beats. I felt my eyes on the verge of tears again. I forced my self to hold back. Not yet..
'His lips... soft..' My thoughts were interuppted as he leaned back. Emil's cheeks were tinted pink, his eyes avoided mine for a second before coming back into contact with mine. I was already red in the face and my ears burned.
Those unfair eyes... making my blood rush to my head constantly. Those kryptonites made me weak to the knees. Those ocean-like orbs made me fall in and drowned me countless times. Those eyes always caught me off guard...
"So unfair!" I giggled and Emil looked at me, confused. He just sighed in response.
"Who said that my lips were reserved for someone else, huh?" He asked. I shifted my feet in embarrassment.
"Do you realize that you're in the laidies' restroom? I asked. "And..?" He said, as dense as ever.
"Pervert!" I laughed as he started getting embarrassed.
"Well, it was worth missing the train and going inside here." he responded under his breath. I playfully slapped his back, chuckling. "But you're gonna pay for my next ticket next week." Emil said and I laughed until I realized it wasn't a joke.
"No way!" I yelled and forcefully pushed him on his back out of the bathroom.
As I did that, I couldn't help but grin to myself.
He looks back at me before softly smiling. "I like you too."
