Chapter 12

This was the week the trainees prepared for! The week where they used the skills they honed to kill actual titans. You were ready for it. To tell the world that you are fulfilling your destiny. Vengeance. Your five years haven't been wasted for nothing. However this was your lovers dream. Eren's dream. A dream that, one day the both of you will be setting foot to a world where no titans will ever roam. A dream that, the both of you will be living in a world of peace.

The peace that all of humanity has been longing for. No suffering, hunger, or sorrow. Eren is going to be by your side. And you'll be his light guiding him to a better future. The future humanity had hoped for.

You were all standing on the wall collecting your thoughts before the battle. Everyone else had trouble containing themselves. You agreed with Eren. Everyone was honing their strength to run. It seemed to look like not many people were going to make it out alive.

A pair of eyes met with yours. You walked up to your lover with fear enveloping your head. His hands intwined with yours. Tears started to stream down your cheeks. His hand reached down to bring your head onto his warm chest. Your tears stained his shirt. You were just as protective as him.
"Don't do anything reckless."
When your sobbing had come end, you felt something lean into your ear.
"I promise I won't die on you..."

And with that he leaned in to meet his lips with yours as he pulled you into an embrace.
Armin was waiting for you guys to finish. So he just stood there not knowing what to do.
Soon as you as you saw Armin, you pulled apart. With nothing else more noticeable
on your face but a shade of red.

Eren looked at the sky with determination. He promised you to make it out alive. And hoped that he will be taking you into his arms once again after the battle at Trost.

At a tragic moment like this, the titan was mesmerized by the human stench Armin was giving off. He froze in his tracks making it an advantage for the hungry titan to have him in its grasp. Armin thought it was the last of him. But a hand reached down to him and pulled him out. It was your lover. Armin yelled at the sight. That's when you came. Shivers went down your spine and the feeling of fear isolated your being. Why did life have to be so cruel?
"EREN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

By that you frantically charged toward the titan's mouth. You reached for his hand and looked into his emerald orbs. Why did it have to be you seeing him like this?
"(Y/n) Don't make the mistake I'm making. Stay alive for me. I promise to find a way out of this. I love you." His other arm lost almost all it's strength just by keeping the titans mouth open. He immediately pushed you away leaving the titan snap his arm off and swallow him whole.
"ERENN!!"
With that Armin finally regained his consciousness and swooped over to the titan's nape to demolish it.

You held his arm. The arm that use to cradle you with love. Your salty tears never came to end. And the embrace you had on his arm never loosened.
