PAISLEY
My neighbour thinks I tried to kill myself. I'm just waiting for him to tell everyone about me, or at least what he thinks of me; but I wouldn't give a single fuck. I stopped giving one when my last parent died.
I walk into my biology class, hoping everyone would just ignore me. My confidence of that happening was half gone due to my hot neighbour that probably has a big mouth.
"Paisley!"
I look around the classroom for the person who called my name. Just my luck! The person who called my name was none other than Alexa, my cousin who spilled out my whole life story.
After a few seconds of hesitation, I finally walk up to her with a fake smile plastered across my face.
"Hey Alex," I say lifelessly.
"Hey, come sit beside me!" She gives me her widest grin and takes her bag from the chair next to her.
I sit down, hoping the conversation would end there, also praying to God that the teacher comes soon. Never have I ever thought that I would be wishing for class to start but desperate times call for desperate measures, right?
"Why are you so quiet? And why do you look so sad?" Alexa annoyingly asks.
Maybe because I just lost my mother? I don't know, it's just a possibility!
"Oh I'm just jet lagged, it's no big deal," I say dismissively.
"Isn't it only two hours behind?"
Take a hint you idiot.
"Yeah but I haven't gotten a lot of sleep even before I went here, so that's why," I respond with an aggravated tone.
"Why haven't you been sleeping?" She asks again, with the same annoying tone.
How can you not pick up on the hints I'm throwing in your face? Oh geez.
"Just, I don't know, things keep me up at night," I say blatantly.
"What kind of things?" She asks curiously.
I roll my eyes slightly from her stupid attempts of pretending she cares.
"Just stuff."
"But-" I cut her off before she continues with that annoying sentence.
"Look Alexa, I really appreciate you making conversation with me but I'm really not in the mood to tell you my life story, maybe I will eventually but I'm extremely tired and I don't want to have to explain myself to a person who already knows why I'm acting the way I am, so please stop trying to get it out of me," I calmly and nicely state the obvious facts.
"You don't have to be such a fucking bitch! Go sit somewhere else loser!" She snaps.
My eyes widen in shock at her sudden outburst.
What the fuck?
I open my mouth to say something that would possibly put her in her place, but a deep voice stops me.
"Paisley you can come sit beside me, you don't want to get STD's just by sitting beside her," a deep voice calls out.
Once again, I'm looking around the room for the person who called my name. To my surprise, I find a cute boy with brown curly hair and bright eyes, waving his hand at me. I was not going to reject that offer, so I immediately stand up and walk to the opposite side of the room. I look back at Alexa who has a scowl on her face, I can't help but be amused. I take the seat right beside him and face him.
