When my vision returned I found myself on I beach. I looked around and then realised that it was the one next to the camp. I saw the guy in the tracksuit and said, 'Who are you and why did you kidnap me?'. I realised how stupid that sounded once I'd said it. A guy who could disappear at will obviously wasn't normal. He looked a bit put-out, like a sulky teenager and asked, 'Don't you recognise me?'
I looked closer at his face, taking in the slanted eyes, raised eyebrows and slightly pointed ears. The mischevious gleam in his eye was the same as the Stoll brothers' when they were about to prank you. I gasped, 'Hermes?'
He grinned, 'oh so you do know me. Good, then you'll also know that I am the god of messengers, and since I am here, I have a message for you.' I stared at the god. What message could he possibly have for me?
'I guess you're still wondering about that', he pointed above my head where the fading hologram was still flickering between a trident and an owl, like a broken TV set. 'Well, the thing is, a while back Posiedon and Athena, well I won't go into details, but you were the result. The problem was, if Athena was found out to be having a kid with Posiedon then her reputation would be way down. Not that we don't all love Posiedon', he shouted, seemingly to no one. I noticed the waves had got a bit rougher and I shivered in the cool sea breeze. 'Anyway', he continued, 'in order to hide their mistake, they stripped you of your immortality, as you would have been a goddess, and gave you to an orphanage on earth. That way the other gods would never find out. What they didn't bargain on however, was the fact that you'd have demigod powers and would probably make your way to camp. And, they had to claim you, because ever since Percy Jackson saved Olympus, the gods promised to claim all their kids. Now the other gods know and Zeus has forbidden them to return your immortality. He doesn't think your trustworthy enough or something, I got bored listening to his speech. ' Hermes started muttering under his breath about Zeus as I processed what he had just told me. So I was a goddess, well not fully, but I should be, even though I was a mistake. Great.
I looked up, remembering something, 'So do you have a message for me then?'
'Huh? Oh yeah.' Out of his pocket he pulled an envelope and a package. 'See you round kid', he said winking, then added, 'Oh you might want to cover your eyes' and he began to glow. I clamped my hands over my eyes and when I opened them the god was gone. I sighed, clutching the packages and sat down on the sand. I opened the envelope first. Inside there were two sheets of paper. On one was a few lines of neat, looping writing.
I assume that Hermes has explained everything to you. I am sorry for not contacting you sooner, but it is unwise for gods to meddle in the lives of their children. I think that if you prove your trustworthyness and loyalty to Zeus and the gods, then he may reconsider granting you your powers. Good Luck, Athena.
The other page was slightly blue and on it were a few words in a scrawling cursive.
I hope the gift helps. Good luck Kiddo. Posiedon.
I stared at the writing completely forgetting about the gift for the moment. My parents had actually written to me. My head was whirling. The whole time I had thought they were dead and now they turn out to be greek gods. I could hardly take it in when I heard footsteps over the dunes behind me. I looked around to see Piper standing there. I pocketed the gift, not wanting to open it in front of her. I wanted to keep it to myself for the moment.
'Come on', she said. 'Chiron has ordered an emergency counsel and he wants you there'. I nodded and followed her back to the big house.

Hiya, thank you so much if you are still reading, it means a lot to me. Now I know the probability of Posiedon and Athena actually having a kid is like zero, but I really wanted to make the story more interesting. I hope that you like the story so far and please comment to tell me what you think. I'm envisaging some kind of quest to prove she is worthy of her imortality but I'm open to any suggestions. Peace out percy jackson lovers. xx
